I saw a purple iris blooming this morning in someone's otherwise dried up flower bed.

Well, right now the eye of Milton has disappeared. Still spinning pretty good, but has to be better than having the buzz saw it was. Hopefully it either ingests enough dry air or moves fast enough to not blow up again before hitting the coast.

Is he riding it out in the open water? I know some people further up the east coast ride our hurricanes by going up rivers and dropping anchor but not sure that applies to one this size.

Good news: it looks like Tampa will be on the north side of the storm, which should limit the storm surge for that area. But Sarasota to Venice looks to take a big beating today/tonight
