My wife did that last night too. Started a new job at UI hospital in Dec. Not worth making the trip from CR to IC last night. She should be fine tonight...maybe.
My wife heading to IC now. One of her friends works at UI hospital as well, in a different dept. They are carpooling tonight since they both start at 7pm. Leaving now to hopefully get there in plenty of time.

Not exactly sure.
Slightly off-topic, but I was thinking about ordering food. Because I don’t wanna go out in this weather. Am I in a hole for doing that? Is that service even available With this weather?

what’s the etiquette for food delivery in the middle of a blizzard?
At minimum 2x a normal tip.

Story county pulling snowplows off secondary roads and Ames city said no plowing after 7. In western Iowa, snow plow and roadgrader plow traveling hard service roads together. Best advice is stay home.

I'm way late to this, but tip big. If you don't tip big, you're seen as an ass and it's likely nobody is picking up your order, anyway.
I watched a few just sit there. First thing I look for is whether they tipped. The ones that sit never tip or tip little enough that nobody cares to get it.

Overall, I'm not a fan of ordering delivery when it's this awful.

Off the grid
Went out to give the driveway another pass with the snowblower.
Came in and had to lay down in front of the fireplace.

Feel fortunate all water, elec, gas working. Feel really fortunate today.

I did the same a little bit ago and went with a hot toddy instead of the fireplace.
