***Official 2024 Weather Thread***

Does anybody else feel like between the rapid ramp up in weather extremes the past several years, the nasty forecasts for tornadoes and hurricanes this year, the political environment, election year, and state of college athletics - that it's like a small-scale simulation for the end times? Half joking, but seriously is the world a ****** up place nowadays.

Meh, it's somewhat overblown.

Is the weather getting worse? Yes, but you're also being told about it LOUDLY 24/7.
Are politics getting worse? Probably, but its been worse before, and you're being told about it LOUDLY 24/7.
Are college athletics getting worse? Maybe, but its been worse before, and you're being told about it LOUDLY 24/7.

Our generation is just the latest to need to adjust to the availability of information. I think information is kinda like sun exposure; you need to get outside sometimes, but many of us need to stop sunning our perineum.

Yes and no. I mean in the mid 80s it was assumed WW3 was coming within weeks for like a decade.

Team Meteorite reporting.

Not really weather related, other than the rain Tuesday halted the repairs. On Monday, a pipe burst five houses down from us. The street gave way and the vehicle dropped down into the hole. Water was shut off around 2pm, back on around 230am. Credit to the CR Water people for working until the 12 inch pipe was repaired. I spoke with one guy and he couldn't believe a 12 inch pipe was there. He said usually no more than six.

Any bad hail in the last 12-24 hours other than West Bend and Whittemore? Some crops are really bad over there. West of Algona.
Was at a baseball game in fort dodge last night. 3 hours of delays, only had 3 outs left. If it would have started 5 minutes sooner we probably would have been done before the delays. No hail there but was some heavy rain.

I heard there were some fields shredded near Radcliffe, sounded like it was a pretty small area
