Agreed which is why you trade Tauchman and Bellinger to clear a path for PCA to play every day and try to convince Happ to waive his no trade clause. Canario Caissie and Davis are waiting in the wings and all 3 have demonstrated in the minors they have some power with their bat. It's time to cut bait with an infielder to give Vasquez a clear path too. I'm so tired of Wisdom Madrigal and Masterbouni getting plenty of chances when most teams would not have then on their 40 man roster.

This is largely why I want Jed gone. I don’t entirely disagree with trading Tauchman or Bellinger, but do we want him to be able to continue building for a future when he’s never put a competitive present on the field?

Or do you trade a couple of your prospects at the deadline to get bonafide corner infielders for the future or make sure the 2025 bullpen isn’t ****?

I think my preference would be buy guys like Luzardo and Guerrero/Bichette who would be cheap and under control next year but also slightly replenish that farm by trading away Hoerner/Taillon/Tauch/Belli

I'm not against getting rid of Jed too. The Cubs are at a crossroads right now. Either get bold with the roster.or find new leadership that will.

Moises Ballestros is heading to Des Moines. Believed to have the highest ceiling and best overall bat in the organization but word is defensively he’s a nightmare.

Interesting thing is he’s a catcher and 1B. Wonder if the FO is pushing him up with a mindset of if we aren’t framing and throwing guys out and not hitting, let’s at least throw someone in there who can hit?

Either way, the promotion is kind of a surprise on my end. But undoubtedly well earned.
They say he's generous listed at 5'7, even if legit 1B seems like a stretch.

They are a bottom 5 team in the MLB and there's no way we become competitive with the current FO. And it's possible even with a great FO we can't be competitive with an owner who doesn't want to spend. But the bleachers stay full, and that's all anyone seems to give a **** about. Just a total embarrassment.

And we love to talk about our farm system, but I have zero faith any of these guys come up and make a huge impact. It hasn't happened since Bryant/Schwarber. No reason to believe these guys aren't the same "meh" guy that Happ, Morel, Nico et al have been.

The first luxury tax threshold is plenty to dominate the small market NL Central. This is Jed, all Jed.

Here's the thing about the break up. I would of guessed Bryant was the future super star. Just didn't happen. Javy was widely loved. He's been awful. Rizzo had back issues but he held up pretty well. Schwarbs was my favorite but the glove was always going to be an issue. I don't know what happened with Russell's legal issues. Don't really care either. Almora wasn't going to be a big league bat.

I'm not criticizing those moves. They are about the only wise thing Jed did, aside from Schwarber who we obviously wish we still had.

It's more a thought on trying to bank on a farm system. One after one these guys have come up and have been pretty average. They aren't difference makers. We haven't had a difference maker come up since KB or Schwarber. Jed just seems to keeps cycling these young guys up, they fizzle out, and we try it again with someone new a few months later.

Saw Robert's pitch the other weekend and he looked good. Glad they didn't let him walk for nothing, it was obvious that Cuas was out of chances at this point. Hopefully Roberts can stay healthy and effective again once he gets a call up.

Wesneski with four walks out of the pen. This **** is just unreal. And here comes Leiter to probably walk two more if they just don’t swing at his splitter

Agreed, I think all these prospects will busts or at the very least the same level of guys like Happ and Morel. If that's the case this franchise isn't going anywhere. It's the main reason I was upset 3 years ago, we got fleeced for all the talent we gave away those couple years. We should have been getting top prospects from each team in all those deals, not just top 10 guys in their respective farm systems.

Wrong. It gets worse, he hit a guy with the bases loaded. Just no execution, and no guts. Starting to wonder if Counsel is part of this fiasco.

This team is so bad! It was almost getting laughable. With a 3 run lead I was still expecting them to blow it. Almost like a game thinking how bad can it get.
