My grandpa went to Fenwick, was a swimming powerhouse back then.
I went to Fenwick. Basketball was almost an afterthought back then. We were also a Football power. When was your GP there. ISU won conference with some Fenwick swimmers. For years ISU always had Fenwick swimmers.

That'd be a NICE rotation piece for team. I would have concerns with your top 2 reserve guards both coming off major injuries in 22/23.

Lipsey
transfer scoring guard
Biliew
Momcilovic
Tre King

Williams
Watson
Heise
BRE or transfer Big

That's a 9-guy rotation that can get back to a tournament, assuming you land the white whale scoring guard

Hamilton
Eli King
Fish
Transfer big

He would be a nice addition. He looks like a taller version of Grill with a little more ball skill. I do wonder if they'd be bringing him in as a walk on unless there is more attrition coming than we realize.

I don't think We Will can afford (pay to play world) two high level scoring guards.. Instead we need scoring, both in a reserve role, and starting role. Being able to bring a proven scorer and defender off the bench is what EVERY elite team has..

For the reserve backcourt, Williams missed all of the year and is coming off a MAJOR injury, Eli King wasn't ready for the Big 12, and Jelani Hamilton is going to be a true freshman. Also, Biliew and Milan will bring shooting to the 3/4 spot that we lacked this year. If Tre King is the starting 5, he has shown the ability to score and stretch.
Yes, we need guards. Period. We need one alpha that can hunt his shot and be a playmaker. The other could be a more rotational piece, as long as he can shoot at a decent clip.

If anyone is interested in his game. A couple other single game vids out there, too, that I think give you a better feel for where he excels.

If we're gonna take another guard who shot in the low 30s from three, give me the one who was a freshman and came on strong as the season went on rather than a 4th or 5th year guy. Big fan of Rohde but imagine he'll be highly sought after. Finished 6th in the Summit in scoring, 4th in assists and 2nd in steals IIRC.

He has Fran written all over him...

Way up there
True, but he is a serviceable small ball 5 against certain lineups.
Have we ever seen this though? Tj really seemed to want to avoid playing small ball this season, we only played it when he had no other choice. Even then, we never saw really saw anyone but Osun, Jones or Ward at the 5. I don't doubt king can handle this but I just don't think it's a direction TJ wants to go.

Pretty sure there were minutes here and there with Jaz or King at the 5. Not extended periods, but it happened.

This. It was used at times just not a ton. I imagine part of it is they had to natural 5s so no need to play King or Kunc there much. But say they don’t get another 5, I can definitely see them playing more King at the 5. Especially because he has the strength to. Actually think it would help ISU offensively with King at the 5. Also on defense you can switch everything rather easily.
Heck KU played 6’6 guy at center this year and won the conference.
