***Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Thread***

Ross is a total liability and has done literally nothing over the course of 4 years to prove he’s a competent manager. The front office is completely unserious about winning if they let him keep the lineup card.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt for the **** rosters they gave him, but he’s either ignorant or stupid if he has any control of some of the lineups and bullpen decisions he puts out there.

Reporter asked the question:

Seems like as the Tauchman lineup took off, you haven’t been winning games against lefties. Anything you can identify for why that might be?

Ross: Nope, others I would make a change

Someone needs to make a change.

Id guess he doesn't have a say on the lineups and has to take it in the pants for those types of questions.

Listen if he insists on putting underqualified people at first I made the all county team as a first basemen in 4th grade. I can be in Chicago in 5 hours.

I’m still just processing. You start a total fielding liability at first for his bat against lefties, only to remove him while batting in the eighth as he’s set to face a lefty. What an absolute unabated clown show.

He doesn't make the lineup. He's putting down what analytics wants.

That's the reason Joe had to go, he wasn't rubber stamping the FO's lineup cards.

I agree this is probably the case, but then the media needs to start dragging Jed until he can give some insight for these changes, or he makes these changes and it’s water under the bridge, unless we miss the playoffs.

People need to be fired if this team is not playing meaningful baseball in October, because those with the power to make lineup decisions have cost us multiple games in just the last 2 weeks, nevermind the willful ignorance in April/May.

This is my biggest frustration. They want us to think “wow look at the overachieving Cubs making a run!” That’s ****. Far and away the most talented team that’s hamstrung by incompetency at manager and the front office.

Pinch hits him for a guy that struggles to get the ball out of the infield.

Sorry to beat a dead horse but just saw a tweet talking about Happ in the 3/4 spot and looked up the info myself to verify.

Happ has hit in the 3 or 4 spot for 113 games this year, or just under 95 percent of the Cubs total games.

He is 5th on the team in RBIs in the spot that is expected to drive in the most runs. The only guys he’s ahead of are guys that have now basically been left to a platoon role. At this point it’s basically baseball malpractice to leave him in a spot he clearly isn’t getting the job done. Hope he goes on a tear to prove me wrong and make me eat crow

New RBI per game stat that I just made up

Morel: .79
Bellinger: .65
Tauchman: .60
Swanson: .56
Hoerner: .53
Gomes: .53
Happ: .46

Guess which guy hits in the batting order spot that has the most RBI opportunities

I’d be fine putting him in that spot against Wainwright, but that’s it.

Hey Ross…THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE KNOWS WISDOM IS NOT A COMPETENT FIRST BASEMAN. You take MT out again and Wisdoom’s error likely cost us the game again. Option the bum to the ICubs where he belongs. Hell he isn’t even a good third baseman.

PCA looked incredible in the field last night—-made an amazing catch and showed off his arm a couple times. Pull the trigger and call him up. I don’t care what that does for service time or whatever. He is an upgrade to the defense and allows us to put the best lineup out there with Bellinger at 1B and JC at 3B. He is going to swipe bags
