I honestly think that if you you changed the scoring and how many points were awarded for each goal the casual American would actually enjoy it. By no means am I saying to do that but it’s funny coming from fans of teams say us this year and Iowa where they average very little scoring.

You think Iowa fans and ISU fans enjoyed watching our teams play this year? hahaha

I love soccer, my older son has played since he was very young I have a deep appreciation of the sport. It's a much better sport than baseball from a spectator standpoint. But I think much more than the scoring aspect, Americans just don't have the deep soccer culture other countries do. I've tried getting into the EPL but I have had a hard time because I just don't care about the teams. For a lot of people that matters a lot.

A lot of people who kind of know me think I'm a huge football fan, and honestly that couldn't be further from the truth. I care about ISU and the Chiefs, and even then I probably only see about half the Chiefs games. I don't watch any other teams. Football has such a deep cultural hold on our country it's just a weird comparison with a sport like soccer.

Not sure what it is with me, but I haven't really gotten into MLS and only very loosely follow the Premier League...but when FIFA rolls around, I'll be geeking out for the month.

MLS is definitely much easier to enjoy with a local team and a state of the art facility to go to watch games. That being said best match I’ve been to at L.com field was US vs el salvador in WCQ when it was like 0 degrees. Way too many St Louis people there (they think they are gods gift to soccer in the US) but other than that it was amazing.

Well CA may not have gotten a result, but I will give them a lot of credit, all their players seem more comfortable on the ball than 80% of our team. Lots of chances and they were right with them.

If St Louis City SC has early success, they will be insufferable.

I'd like to get around to see an MLS game in Columbus, Portland and Seattle at some point. They all have passionate fan bases.

We’re depressed about a loss to Belgium? A consistent top five international side for the last decade?

I wonder what the data says about lefty vs righty penalty takers. If a goalie is right handed (assuming the majority are), I feel left footed penalty takers are at a disadvantage (Messi aside).

CONCACAF has done horribly so far. Plus this isn’t a quality Belgium side. This is an old lineup. There were moments where Belgium looked shockingly bad today.

Austin has the hit the ground running with their game day atmosphere for sure. I’d add that to the list of great places to watch soccer in the US.

USA is 16 currently and Wales is 19 in the FIFA World rankings. It’s not like a draw was some crazy result.
No but i wasn’t impressed with Wales. They are also the last qualifying UEFA team and didn’t light up Nations League.

Regardless DDLL isn’t a great first round for CONCACAF.

I think Canada might suffer after that penalty miss and with the pressure of a first WC appearance in a long long time. Mexico will go through like they always do. CR is ******. USA is a 50/50 to get through at this point.

I love MLS and don't give a hoot about the EPL. Just one of those things.

I love International Soccer! World Cup, Copa America, Euro Championships, Gold Cup, you name it, all great!
