My driveway didn't get done and probably wont for a while. My truck made it out and now I have tire tracks to follow. I had to shovel outside my business and my god was it cold.
I did at 5:30 so my wife (nurse) could get to work. Just did enough of the driveway for her van. Will do the same tonight whenever she gets off. Other than that the rest is waiting until Saturday morning.
Why not just floor it to get out of the driveway without cleaning it? Then clean the driveway later in the day or after work. Especially if it’s still snowing. And you have 24 hours to do the sidewalks too.
That’s what I just did to drop the kids off at daycare anyway. I’m not cleaning until it’s done snowing
In Marion, working from home, and will clear the drive when I see it stops snowing.
I clear the drive before leaving since the tire tracks will pack in the snow and will be difficult to remove later. These will get slick.
Unless you absolutely HAVE to go somewhere.... why even clear the driveway? Stupid. I don't have to be anywhere today or tomorrow... I may not clear mine until the weekend. With this wind, it will look like you did nothing an hour after you clear it.
If you don't have to be anywhere, don't even bother... a waste of time.
10 minutes with a shovel takes care of the tracks.
Idk. I just know **** cleaning snow at like 6 in the morning. I ain’t doing that ****
Well, if you live in an area where I do, the wind bends and will make a drift waist high or better if you wait, then add in the dirt that gets picked up from the field, because I live on the edge of town and you will have a rock hard waist high drift if you wait too long.Unless you absolutely HAVE to go somewhere.... why even clear the driveway? If they’re good enough for the Iditarod, they’re good enough for blowing snow.I bought some Kinco insulated gloves last year and thought they would do the trick, they didn't. My fingers were freezing. Any recommendations for gloves strictly for blowing snow?
Haven't touched mine yet. My wife is driving home from Champaign, Il now. I told her to give me an hour notice and I'll get out there.Jesus grow up.
For the adults in the room is anyone in CR blowing yet? I'm afraid I'll just end up with more of the white stuff to clean up
With as much traffic as my driveway gets. I try to keep it clean but its basically impossible. Always have a snow pack until it warms up and I can try to bust the ice up the best I can. It's not always as easy as 10 minutes with a shovel, at least for me. Usually it's packed so hard/becomes ice so my snow shovel won't even get under it/break it up. I prefer clearing a lane so I don't have to deal with that later.

Hate those packed down tire tracks. Absolutely loathe them.I clear the drive before leaving since the tire tracks will pack in the snow and will be difficult to remove later. These will get slick.
Put on a pair of rubber gloves before your regular gloves. Will really keep the hands warmer.Need mittens in this weather. Optimal is a pair of thinner gloves with mittens over top to keep from losing heat if you need to remove the mittens to do something that requires dexterity. But no pair of gloves will ever match a good pair of mittens.
