Didn’t seem light enough to blow much. But yes, this was only round 1. Round 2 starts in the morning.
I did the same thing to get the wet heavy stuff off the driveway. Whatever drifts in over night is going to be lighter and fluffier.

"Travel Not Advised" alerts now popping up around the DSM metro, and north to Huxley.

Tire grinding party at Curt’s!

Went out around 8:30 last night and shoveled the end of the driveway after the plow went by. Was afraid it might be a chunk of ice after the temps dropped.

KCCI just reported Ames had 12.6” of snow! 0C9E04FB-3540-4518-A74B-0D20C81AA4BC.jpeg

Drove from Ames to Minneapolis last night (early am flight out of minny) and it took us 5.5 hours to get there. Was going 35 mph on I-35 through most of Iowa. Wasn’t too bad once we got north of Albert Lea though

That would be a long and exhausting drive

We will be coming from the North down to Ames for the game. What should we be expecting down that way?

I would expect to see normal winter travel with probably 100% of the roads snow and ice covered. Main roads have been plowed here in Ames. Our side street has been plowed twice since 2 pm yesterday, but probably has 6” more on it. Use caution and plan accordingly and give yourself plenty of time.

Thinking about going over to my neighbor’s and digging a snow tunnel through his 5’ tall piles at the end of his driveway. Dude was out there for 2 hours cleaning his driveway.
