Exactly. Not only that but when is a kid going to become a ball hog and chuck up shots just so he can maintain around 15 points a game so his sponsors don't back off of him. Thus, causing good teams to not play well together. SHould be interesting
More shots-More money.

Not completely on board with your thinking, but I get the point about borrowing, and there might be an ROI, especially compared to going out of business. I do know you will not fill Hilton or the Jack without competitive teams. It does not take long either - a couple bad years. Donations will also decline. You have provided a lot to think about.
So, I suppose to make that work we need the donors to switch to NIL, and borrow to fill the athletic shortages. Seems like that might work for some period of time. Perhaps not long term sustainable. Things likely get much worse for us with next TV contacts - as our budget shortfalls will grow. Without significant new donor dollars (unlikely) I am not sure it is sustainable.

Just some perspective, if all the football season ticket holders chipped in 75 bucks a year, which is less than the asking price on cyclone or gridiron club, you would have a multi million dollar pot to work with.

I also know it’s a pipe dream cuz getting people to donate feels like pulling teeth. I am just saying, numbers wise, if everyone chipped in something, you would be at a good starting point.

Why to that though when the AD is bemoaning it’s too late, a top-30 is coming and we’ll be good alongside another 35 former top level programs?

hmmm...reopening due to......??
(hope its not because of not enough NIL - but then I guess I better get used to it)
I hugely doubt it. He's a decent enough player, but far from a difference maker at the P6 level.

I think players need to develop code words to their tweets to indicate their NIL requirements. When I read Pinson's tweet, the word fully just strikes me as him saying, "Auctions Open - Let's Start the Bidding"

“I am reopening my recruitment fully.”

I just looked at the linked article and Pinson went to Chicago Simeon. Isn't that the same school Williams attended his senior year?

Also interesting Dennis Gates the new Mizzou coach reached out to Pinson about returning. Pinson was a 13ppg scorer there, so maybe the grass isn't greener.

Here’s a potential staff target. ISU recruited Walton out of HS in Minnesota.
Of course Gopher fans have already had jerseys made assuming he heads back to TC.
