Let's get 1 thing straight. I'm not encouraging this, or wanting it to happen. My day was basically ruined when I heard this. But I have no reason to no believe the person(s) that I talk to. It's definitely not some joe blow.

I hope your optimism is correct, I truly do!
interesting. You create a username and 6 of your first 7 posts are regarding Tyrese transferring.

We are fast approaching the end of today's NCAA. But there will be some governing body that oversees college athletics. The current chaos with transfers and NIL shows what can happen without a strong governing body. Do we see governing bodies by sport? Do Conferences create their own rules?

The article you link is not an appeal to the Supreme Court. It's an Appeals Court case- so it will be years before this could hit the Supreme Court. The issue of athlete compensation will be addressed by the NCAA Steering Committee this summer.

You are right that Justice Kavanaugh last summer made scathing statements of the current NCAA model where athlete compensation is suppressed by the NCAA. But does that mean pay-for-play or allowing for further academic benefits that schools can provide.

Besides your legal case linked, there are also student-athlete groups looking to unionize and collectively bargain for athletes.

I have no insight, but if the NCAA Steering committee feels players need to be paid to meet legal requirements, we will see a top tier where schools pay athletes as employees. But not sure how that would jive with Title IX. I would think that as long as there is A path for HS athletes in FB & MBB to get paid, that would meet legal scrutiny.

But I think there will also be another model more like today where athletes aren't employees and paid a salary.

But who knows, do college athletes really want to be employees or do they want to share revenue. PGA professionals aren't employees and I think Tiger has done pretty well over the years. Personally, I think that model would have a lot of promise and in the end could closely mimic from a competition standpoint what we see on the field/court today. The big question is how to deal with the vast differences in revenue generated by sport- football vs. MBB, vs WBB vs. VB vs etc. etc. etc.
It won’t be years. They’re already well over two years in. Likely a year tops imo.

Whether it’s good for business, depends on how it’s executed.
College athletic departments in the P2 are going to be generating $150-$200 million/year soon. That is going to lead to players getting paid one way or another. Might was well try to bring it out in the open and regulate it

If Tyrese moves to UNC then it makes him a one and done at ISU. And we move on. It sucks. Thanks for this year. We made a Sweet 16. And after the worst year ever in Iowa State History. Which made it sweeter.
- UNC is loaded at point guard. You have junior RJ Davis, a McDonald's All American, who just took UNC to the national championship game. You have Caleb Love, a 5-star McDonald's All American, who is probably coming back. You have incoming freshman Seth Trimble, a top 40 recruit. Then we have 5-star Simeon Wilcher coming in 2023.

- UNC currently has no open scholarships. If one were to open up, the immediate priority would be to find a stretch 4 who can offset the loss of 6'9" 3-point marksman Brady Manek. If a 2nd scholarship were to open up, the 2nd priority would be another wing scorer.

- InsideCarolina is the most heavily trafficked college basketball board on the planet. They haven't missed a scoop on UNC basketball in 20 years. Nobody on their premium board even knew who Tyrese Hunter was until somebody popped in to say "have you guys seen the rumor Iowa State fans are spreading?"

No one associated with UNC is spending $750,000 on a guard who shoots 27% from 3pt range. No one from UNC is tampering with a player who doesn't even have the slightest chance of getting minutes on our team next year considering we are loaded at his position next year (and for the foreseeable future.) I'm honestly a bit concerned you guys have taken such an obviously nonsensical rumor and run this far with it. This is flat earther level conspiracy nonsense.

If you post it three more times, legends say the south will rise again.

No one cares about UNC. You might as well be NC St.

It only matters whether Hunter leaves or not. Could be UNC/NCSt/Wake, doesn’t matter.

Makes sense. If the board was named OutsideCarolina they would know the top players in the No. 1 basketball conference in the universe.

First time I’ve seen Blake’s name with a program. Then again his commitment to ISU came out of no where too.

Interested to see where he ends up. I think he could be an alright player but surprised he's still looking.

I didn't realize Shannon was transferring. That's an odd one.
Could be a deal of him being purchased like Hunter, but I think there was a little tension between him and Adams too. Don't have any official word on that but I do remember him being pretty pissed on court that Adams called timeout at the end of a game to set up a play instead of just letting him do whatever he was going to do
