How about another St. Bonnie player?

He has a very nice looking shot and doesn't seem at all awkward.
If any interest by Waterman, I'd take a flyer on him. He actually seems VERY coordinated, for a tall 6-11. Could be a higher ceiling than some others. And can shoot.

Last year, we had, what was it, 2-3 unused schollies, couldn't really help it, but wasted. This year we have 1 left. Let's use it if we can get another player that can shoot. And Waterman would also have 2 years with a new team? as he is a Junior.

Looks like BYU is interested in him.

What position does Waterman guard in the Big 12? It’s tough to tell from the level of competition on that tape (and the fact that it’s all highlights), but it looks like it could be a case of slow feet and short arms.

T Rex are notorious for having short arms but they were still pretty lethal.

That seems like a solid late pickup. How does that work since he just entered? Wasn't there a deadline?
There was May 1 for immediate eligibility.
He would be a traditional sit out transfer unless he has a waiver case. At this point I would guess ISU will start looking at roster moves for 2023 (sit out/mid year) unless there is a high level decommit.

If Walton can fit Texas Tech's culture, I'm sure he can fit ours.

Culture is probably a secondary consideration. As the staff likely views most guys as coachable. My guess it comes down to needs and promises to existing players.

Could very well be Walton or Jenkins weren't interested in coming to Ames. Can't recruit a player if there isn't mutual interest.

Bringing AJ Green aboard was unique because his dad is a coach at ISU. Signing a player like Walton or Jenkins would effect playing time for guys like Holmes, Kalscheur, Grill, Eli KIng, Lipsey, etc. It's easy to say it's the coaching staff's right and responsibility to recruit whoever makes the team better. But the reality is we don't know what TJ & staff promised the transfers or HS recruits their roll would be.

Or maybe promises a player was going to be ISU's only recruit at a specific position with this recruiting cycle.

This article will be of interest to people I'm guessing.

Quote from Rasir Bolton I thought was interesting.

When did you know it was time to think about transferring again?

After the 2020-21 season, I had planned on staying. But Coach T.J. Otzelberger brought guys in and held meetings, and he actually told me to leave. He told me, "You know you probably won't play here next year. We think it'd be best for us and you if you decided to go somewhere else." I appreciate him for that, for being honest and not keeping me there and doing me wrong. Once he told me that, I put my name in the portal once again, explored my options and found an option at Gonzaga.
