Second the one below it because I see weatherbug still saying like a 40% change. Might not be for Des Moines area that you are talking about, though.

They went from snow showers to light snow to snow. Still 40%, but that is what they had the percentage at for yesterday this far out.

Damn.
Kirkwood cancelled this morning (originally it was a 2 hour delay) and I suspect it's some of the non-main road conditions that pushed that decision.

With these temps it doesn't take much moisture to get a quick shot of snow. DVN NWS discussion mentions .1-.15" QPF (basically model predicted available moisture for precip) at nearly 20:1 ratio so that is easy an inch to inch and a half of snow.

Interesting that the models are starting to line up to. I see there is a chance tomorrow as well.

I discovered the DVN discussions via ISU's Mesonet and reading those are superior to anything else I've seen.
