I wonder if that will put Mike White on the hot seat down there. I remember not being all that impressed with his hiring (don't think he had ever taken Louisiana Tech to the NCAA's), and while he hasn't been a total flop down there I don't think he's done much to fill the rather sizeable shoes of Billy Donovan.

May I point out the Iowa State University Cyclones, whose mascot is a cardinal, played the lllinois State University Redbirds in round 1 of 1996?

I do remember that. I was still technically a hok at that time, but I for all intents and purposes knew I'd be going to Iowa State, so I was cheering for them in that tournament.
