***Official 2021 NCAA Tournament Thread***

Man, NT looked great at the line in OT. They had all the confidence in the world.

They did that whole 'closing out' thing.

I've seen a few teams do that today.

Like, they get a small lead, and then...they keep leading until the end.

What is that?

Wow, I am no stathead, but when was the last time (if ever) that Duke, Kentucky, and UNC were not in the tournament after Day 1?

I am sure Coach K, Calipari, and Huckleberry have made it clear to the shoe company bag men that they better step it up next year.

Now just need Syracuse and KU to exit early and I will be giggling all weekend.

The last time that neither were in the final 32 was 1974. But there weren't even 32 teams in the tournament in 1974. The tournament expanded to 32 in 1975. But none of the 3 made the tournament in 1974.

Another interesting fact is this is the first time that less than 2 of the 3 are in the Round of 32 since 1982. North Carolina was the only one in the Round of 32 in 1982. Since then (until now), at least 2 of the 3 (and most years all 3) have played in the second round.

2014 was the last time any of them missed the Round of 32 before this year.

When Larry's great ISU squad played in the Metrodome in 2000, the Auburn fans around town were a fun bunch.

I just disagree. If those three go to seed and half the Final Four is Big Ten teams it's hard to argue because they showed they earned their seeds. If the Big 12 ever had two Final Fours and another in the Elite Eight we would be puffing our chest. To say otherwise is just lying to yourself.

A loooong time ago the Big8 had the national championship OUvsKU. OU got the W. That was the best bracket I have ever picked in my life. Unluckily I was not in a pool.

KU won it. (OU was the favorite). First half of that title game was awesome -- tied 50-50. Second half was not as frantic.

That year, 3 Big 8 in the Elite 8 (OU KU and KSU).
