***Official 2021 NCAA Tournament Thread***

A lot of times I add up total rounds of overseeded and underseeded from conferences at the end of the tourney.

@randomfan44 elite coaching on display. Tough when the bag man can't drop bags any more.
Honestly, this season has shown just how good Bill Self is. He just led a roster that is clearly limited in their offensive abilities to their 32nd straight 20 win season, an ncaa record 31st straight ncaa tourney bid, 2nd place in the very challenging Big 12, a win over undefeated Baylor, a 3 seed in the ncaa tourney and a tourney win. I'd guess that most programs would love for that to be the description of their worst team in 30 years so I am appreciative of what Self was able to do with them to make them as competitive as they were.

Virtually all of the teams with elite coaches suffered this year because this year the amount of time spent getting coached was much less. When you remove the advantage gained by having an elite coach, the big name teams are way more like everyone else.

KU has always looked like a team that Self would coach up to a higher seed than their ability but that would get exposed in the tourney if they didn't get a favorable match up. USC and all that length was a terrible match up for this KU roster.

Bummed to see it end like that. Excited for the offseason decisions and roster changes to see what next year's squad is capable of. I am glad we got a season at all this year and I am appreciate of the dedication of the players who went through such insanely rigorous protocols to be able to provide us with a much needed distraction from the heaviness of life these days. On to better, brighter days.

Unfortunately a tough season to judge conference strength with so few non-con matchups compared to a normal year.

But yes, it appears the PAC was woefully underseeded
Seeding is a reward for your accomplishments, not a ranking of your ability. They were given the seeds their resumes earned and have played well in their match ups. This year, seeding mattered very little.

It was a team constructed of 4 and 5 star recruits that have been at Kansas for several years. If they're limited offensively, maybe that is on Self and his staff.

I’m not buying this one. If they are elite coaches, they know better how to use the time they had with their teams.

It is difficult to believe that someone could fit so much hooey in so few words. Son, your post amounts to 10 pounds of **** in a 5 pound sack.

I think it comes from years and years of them not having a lot and being stowed away with late games, etc.

These folks that pick the teams never seem to be good at looking at what the teams are doing the current season.

imagine had rutgers won

loyola, oregon state, syracuse, rutgers.

one of them would have made the final 4

even replacing rutgers with houston and its still kinda crazy
