I wonder if TJ was his primary recruiter or if an assistant was?. I would bet Texas too. Would be freaking amazing if he considered ISU.
Over on the UNLV Board it sounds like Otz was not the reason he was going there. So I'm guessing there will be no mutual interest.

They will miss Beard 10X more as and Xs and Os game day coach than a recruiter. He is good at both but is absolutely elite at coaching.

From what I heard they hired the new guy because he was the X and O and defense coach and Beard would really miss him. Always thought Beard was the recruiter in that bunch of coaches

Beard is a Knight protege. He is a spectacular teacher and schemer. Adams is more of a coaching lifer who has grinded his way up every level, seems like a good coach though.

Adams is a defensive specialist and was the architect of the best defense in the nation at Texas Tech. His own son, who played at Tech, said if his dad had it his way he would win games 31-30.

Beard still has Knights offense from the 80's. Not exactly a innovative basketball mind. What Beard does well is teach fundamentals and get guys to play super hard. Adams is known as one of the best defensive coaches in the country.

The most important part of coaching is motivating kids to play hard. Most kids think they are working hard when they aren't. Getting them past that is more important than Xs & Os.

I would love to get Kaluma, but I'm not feeling confident. Did the staff reach out? I wonder how close him and Jayden Nunn are, since they play on the same team. Wonder if Jayden de-committing after "not hearing" from Otz would make Kaluma shy away from ISU.

I would guess that would be a big reason. TJ probably already knows he would not want to come to Ames, Iowa

Ryan Hawkins from Division II NW Missouri St. into the portal as a grad transfer. 6'7" stretch-4 originally from Atlantic, Iowa. I know it's D-II, but averaged 22.6 points (on 46% 3pt shooting), 8.8 rebounds. Worth kicking the tires on?

Is their 3 pt line the same as D1?

I believe they were the national champions in Division II
