So we aren’t in this position because of misses on two Top 150 kids and 3/4 of the freshmen class leaving after a year but rather because over the course of two years we have had one guy leave for the lottery, one for the mid-second and one to play in the G League. I think it is a bit of a mixture of both. The freshmen class this year should be very good (it has to be) but I think it’s fair to say that we are in this tenuous position because of some misses.
Don’t want to ruin your dream but Buggs won’t be coming here...staying out westI'd go Buggs, Kier, Walker and Harris.
Our misses are inline with the rest of the conference. Do a little homework before you spew conclusions. Look at 24/7 and report back on how many hits the Big XII has had from the 2018 class.
If Haliburton was a very good PG instead of a top 10 pick we'd be looking at this offseason completely different. C'mon he was a 3*. Losing him after two years is a bit of a shock.
As for 2019, we have Jackson, Bolton and Johnson returning. 2 probable starters and a rotation player.
Once again we are focusing on freshmen recruiting which was the question at hand. Anderson, Leech and Grill have to be all considered misses. We can compare transfer hit/misses as well but that wasn’t the question.
Secondly, I didn’t say anything about the misses for CSP simply indicated that the original poster who said CFH hit freshmen at a 25% clip was wrong. So perhaps you should take an opportunity to actual read the posts in their entirety before you spout off.
Finally, are we the only Big 12 team that loses people early to the pros? Did you expect Top 60 ranked High school kids (#35 LW and #57 THT) to be here for 4 years? Quite frankly 1.5 years is probably about the right average for expectation. Regarding Halliburton CSP would have never expected to be gone after two years when he recruited him. But after the end of his freshmen year he knew he probably wouldn’t have him for 3 years. So you have to recruit in that fashion. I think Dubar is going to be really good along with Blackwell.
Add Flowers for some pg help and it’s a hell of a class! Can Colman-Lands play pg? Not many pgs out there.Harris, Colman-Lands, and Kier, would be about as good as it can get right now.
Grill, left because he's far behind Bolton and Jackson. When Bolton committed his days were numbered.
Wait, a big drop in rankings is indicative that we’re underestimating his potential? How did Jaden Walker drop so drastically in the rankings? Did he get hurt or not play an AAU season? What happened. I think the kid may have way more potential than we are giving him.
Here is his rankings drop. Can't figure out what happened

Right. He’s got a ton of potential. But he likely struggled to play the way that got him ranked, or he didn’t progress, Remember that Zion went from a MVC recruit to KU offer over a great weekend. That is weird I don't remember him ever being ranked in the top 100 which that ranking would suggest he was. Looks like 247 must have initially overrated him maybe after seeing him in a weekend event. Probably never performed to that level afterwards.

I have had a lot of free time invested in watching Core4 Atlanta games on youtube. I still can't get a great feel for where he is at. Seems kind of (and I hate to say this) lazy. However, he is playing a ton of minutes so some of that may just be minute management. Honestly he plays more off ball with a 5 foot something not exactly mind blowing speed kid who has a really nice handle on the ball.Right. He’s got a ton of potential. You have to remember that Blackwell's level of competition got stepped up in a big way this last year. He transferred to a really high level Florida prep school Blanche Ely.Once concerning thing about this class actually is that 3 players have gone down in rankings the last year or so. Only Dubar has risen. Of course I think part of Xavier's drop was all the time he has been out with injuries.
