I have no dog in the fight, other than a bracket selection, but those were some rough calls that took a team's best player out of the game. Certainly had an impact. What other games are you referring to?

8/16 left here. My coworker still leads by a healthy margin. Her Texas/Creighton Elite Eight pick didn't help her, but the wizardry of picking Loyola in the Sweet 16 has her on top.
A whopping 6 of 16 teams still alive.
A beacon of hope: I still have four of my Elite 8, three of my Final Four, both national title game teams and my national champion.
Highly impressive, considering what has transpired. A solid "weather-the-storm" bracket.
I'm in a similar situation. Only 6 of my 16 picks advanced. But still alive are four of my Elite 8, three Final Four, both tournament-final teams and my champion.
Of course, my glimmer of hope could disappear as early as Fridee night.

Crazy weekend. I haven't seen a Region blow up like that since 2008, when the highest seed Kansas had to beat to get to the Final Four was a #8 seed.

Did you all see Syracuse Boeheim says, when up by 3, always foul to prevent team from tying the game. They did it three times vs Mich St.

People may not like Boeheim's ethics but the guy can flat out coach. It's going to be cool watching the original zone (Syracuse) going up the copied zone (Duke - Coach K has admitted he copied the zone from what he learned from Boeheim coaching the USA team).
The officiating badness was only surpassed by the ugliness the game itself. My gawd do we need Dean Wade back!
I figured that game would be close because Syracuse's zone takes away what MSU does best which is pound it inside. MSU doesn't have great guards and has good but not great shooters. Duke just beat Cuse by almost 20 a couple weeks ago in Bagley's first game back. Duke would really have to just have a horrible night to lose, which could always happen but I would bet on Duke winning this one easy.

Gut-feeling: Second weekend will stabilize into a chalkier rhythm, with favorites in each matchup advancing in the majority of cases. I hesitate to apply the term "chalk" in this situation, considering about 56% of the remaining field is seeded 5 or lower. But you get my drift.
