We really just have one need and it's guys that GET BUCKETS
This is true. At the highest level, we need guys that with high probability will come in and get buckets.

And I hope that's what the staff is selling. We need to replace all of our guys that got buckets. What recruit doesn't like the sound of that? We lost 4 starters and almost all of our points. We need you, Juiston, to create and score. You, too, Wilson. Should be an easy sell.

We know the returning guys can play alongside guys that get buckets and will compete. They'll do the little things. It's reasonable to have optimism that they'll develop and score a lot more.

My main question is how it's sitting now how many rides do we have for the 2018 class and how do we bring in the most potential for the 2016 squad while having enough spots to go after the 3 big fish we have the best chance of landing in 2018 (Thompson, Moss, and Green). With Carter gone there are 4 spots left for next season. A perfect scenario would be

1- JUCO Transfer Shakur Juiston
2- Grad Transfers Duane Wilson
3- Big Man Grad Transfer
4- Either HS player Alexis Yetna or JUCO Transfer Daryl Edwards

I think that would leave the 2017 and 2018 classes sitting pretty well.

6'7, 230, 35 percent from three, 80 percent from free throws as a junior. And I think he's smart.

His season ended in December after he tore his right ACL. He also sat out all of 2015-16 after tearing his right ACL.

Looks like he can really shoot it for 6'8" guy. Had good numbers against the better non-Ivy teams on the schedule

With 12 total starts returning and no players that have played pg even in high school? Not many decent programs have an easier path to PT.

Everyone has recruits coming in.

Prohm is very likely not going to make any attempt to recruit over a senior in Jackson and a top recruit in Wigginton. Nor will Wilson see that duo as a guaranteed opportunity for +30 mpg.

Ha, this never gets less funny. This isn't junior high.

If Prohm can get a starter to help at pg, he will. We have plenty of time and usage available. Potentially Wilson will be intimidated by the zero pgs we have on the roster, but if Prohm if a decent recruiter we'll have a chance.

What is Jr High is your insistence that Jackson and Wigginton are not PGs and that a kid who get benched (while his team significantly improved) would view ISU for his one remaining season as an opportunity to max out his PG PT.

Jackson and Wigginton have very little time as pgs at any level. To think we'd pass on getting a pg that could help or we're not interested in over-recruiting is silly. It's more than silly, as it wouldn't even be over-recruiting. It's just recruiting. We have a need and the opportunity that Wilson is looking for.
Wilson, Jackson, and Wigginton would be a great backcourt

I think the point isn't that Prohm wouldn't want him, but rather that Wilson wouldn't view it as an ideal spot.

Anyhow, one thing about Wilson is that he'll have a lot of info about our situation, for good or bad. Played with Jackson in AAU, with Burton at MU, and knows several Cyclones.

I may be in the minority but I think we go after a grad transfer guard, particularly with us having looked at juco guards already. I like our pg prospects, but a guy that spent two years as a pg, and has also played the off guard sounds perfect. I'm not worried that he saw reduced time last year- we've had a lot of success with those types

I just may be totally out of the loop but how is Jackson not a PG or played PG much at any level? He was the #1 ranked JUCO PG when he came here. If he was the best at that position wouldn't that mean he played that position in games?

Morris-Kane is the hole in your contention/opinion about having guys signed to play pg.

We don't have a single guy next year that's played point guard at this level and many of the candidates haven't really played pg at any level.

We have two major needs. Replace/find our mismatch in the frontcourt and get a grad transfer guard, preferably a pg.
That's what I am confused about. Why do you want a PG? We need shooters, not ball handlers. We have 2 maybe 3 guys that are already vying for the PG position, sure maybe not P5 level PGs yet but still here to be PG,and a big opening in what was Matt and Naz leaving as our 3 point threats. Donny Jack can't be the only 3 point threat if we want to be successful next year. Guess we have a disconnect in what we are talking about, or I just have a different idea of what our needs our. Either way, nbd. To each his own.

Way up there

He played the 2 his frosh year due to a teammates injury, got hurt a month into his soph season where he actually played PG and he played behind Monte this year. The guy has maybe 1 full season of playing PG in college. I'm not saying he's not capable, I think he'll be great but he doesn't have a ton of experience running the point. Prior to ISU he had played PG maybe 10-12 games in his career.
