Getting Kasongo was a poor decision.
Maybe, but we didnt have much choice and needed bodies on the practice/scout squad. Hes a big body.

Ah, pessimism by default. Makes sense.
It's not default pessimism. It's looking at Kasongo's history (1.4 ppg), reading between the lines (no positive reviews), and then making a judgement about the future.
My point is that we probably could have found a better player as a mid-year than Kasongo will give us.
Not super happy we took Kasongo right now.

Or we could have struck out on all the mid year options, leaving us with nothing. I'm not crazy high on Kasonga either at this point, but not because "we haven't heard anything positive."
I would argue that expecting a high quality mid year transfer is fool's gold. We just haven't been able to get the better transfers with this staff, and another Kasonga might be as good as we were gunna do anyway. Besides, it's not like we absolutely can not try to get a mid year transfer. We've gotten players without scholarships before, although with a different coaching staff, and different situation.
I wish someone would ask Prohm if they are going to actively recruit mid year transfers this season.
This is a program that should be getting high-profile players and there are other post up bigs who are talent wise much better than kasongo, so it's not really pessimistic it's just we can get a better talent than him.Ah, pessimism by default. Makes sense.
Why is Kosongo getting shade thrown his way?
He's been on the team less than 5 months and I doubt the media is asking many questions about him. A lot of posters have been looking for post bodies to add as a need for ISU and Ray is 6'9" 245. Kasongo had offers out of HS from USC, LSU and committed to Oregon, then Tennessee. He was being recruited by San Diego State, ASU, Washington State, Seton Hall, TCU, and UNLV once he announced his transfer. He may pan out or not but it isn't like the RK doesn't have some talent a lot of Coaches/Programs were interested in add him to the roster.
Let give Ray a chance to play in Hilton to before we bail on his career.
What has our fan base turned into? The guy has not even played a min for ISU and everyone already hates him. Go watch some footage of the guy playing and you will see what he is. A bigger more physical McKay.
Nichols- no thanks. The kid is a head case.Didn't realize Rashaad Muhammad and Austin Nichols were grad transfers. Wonder how that works being a grad transfer at semester?
If they both wait until May to transfer those are names I'd love to see isu connected to.

I like this attitude. This board was on fire when Dustin Hogue committed to us, he was terrible and couldn't even see the court at IHCC. And all those posters were so right about him. It's not default pessimism.
