I'm hoping you mean Iowa St's year with Kane over LSU's year with Simmons, and you're not talking about the players' year.

Kane was a leader. Simmons was just looking to get drafted.

Correct. Simmons couldn't get a talented team, in a bad conference, to the big dance. Kane helped get ISU into the sweet 16 over UNC without Georges.

Transfers allow Iowa State to be competitive every year. We do not get the one and done HS recruits, so we rely on upper classmen to lead our team. Without transfers we would have down years while we wait for players to develop. With transfers, we can fill in the gaps and remain competitive.

I remember when this thread was about potential transfers and not a discussion breaking down the Theory of Transfer Relativity...ahhhhh the good ol' days.

6-5 195 guard. Avg 2.7 ppg.

Probably not what were looking for but I don't know if I've ever seen a grad transfer with 3 years of eligibility remaining.

Hallice when he came here?

Not that ISU was recruiting him this time around but interesting choice by Grandstaff going to DePaul. He should get ample playing time once eligible.

@GoodmanESPN Austin Grandstaff is headed to DePaul, source told ESPN. Began career at Ohio State with a brief stop at Oklahoma.

Hopefully he'll do the smart thing and drive his RV into Chicago, park it in the United Center parking lot and take mass transit to Lincoln Park for school and basetball.
