*** Official 2015-16 NBA Playoff Thread ***

Lebron and other Cavs have done similar things that Green has. I have seen Lebron give several elbows to guys with nothing called. People are making a big deal out of nothing regarding Green. If this was 15 years ago he would have been playing last night. League wrongly inserted itself into the series and showed preferential treatment for protecting Lebron. Like they typically do. Like Phil Jackson has stated. Lebron travels 50% of the time. Lebron flopped when his own guy hit him and they gave the other team a technical. Lebron is just as annoying as Green and even more whiny. Green just called Lebron what he is, a b****. That's why he got so sensitive about it because it hit home.
Every player gets away with travels. I bet there was over 10 missed travels last game

Let me guess. You're a Bulls fan?

I'm a Bulls fan from Chicago and I don't get the LeBron hate at all. He isn't perfect, but he is the best player in the league.
I dont either. I lived in the Chicagoland area during the growth and fruition of the Lebron Hate, and I can't stand it. I understand not liking a player and rooting against them, but there is a legitimate hate in 75% of the Bulls fans hearts for Lebron. Like I said I get the dislike, because I dislike a good number of players myself, but I will never understand the pure hate. You can root against him all you want, but if you can't sit back and respect what he does as a player and how he is one of the top players we will see in our lifetime, then it is just over-kill.

I've said this before on CF, but he is one of the few players that actually lived up to the hype and even exceeded it. He had a ton of pressure on him at 18/19 years old and came into the league and produced at a high level. Incredible talent. I can understand some Bulls fans who love Jordan not wanting to give him props, but LeBron himself gives Jordan the props he deserves. I hope he somehow pulls out this series.

It's like Bulls fans were even more ****** at LeBron for daring take his talents to South Beach than Cavs fans were - and there was legitimate hate initially. A few years later Cavs fans finally got why LeBron did it - when the team literally fell to pieces when LeBron left, they began to realize it was LeBron and nobody else, and it felt like ownership wasn't doing what was necessary to get help.

Bulls fans, on the other hand, appear to still be self-entitled over the 1990s. How dare LeBron not come play for the greatest organization ever to play in the NBA and not live in Jordan's shadow into perpetuity? That's why Bulls fans irrationally hate LeBron more than anyone else - because they think they're still living in the '90s and think the Bulls are God's gift to basketball and how dare anybody not want to be a part of that.

As a result, most Bulls fans think forget Jordan, LeBron couldn't touch Scottie's junk. How delusional. While Scottie is one of the greatest to play the game, he never would have been considered such if he wasn't playing opposite of Jordan. He would clearly be a perennial All Star, but not one of the all time greats. He has done nothing in the way of championships without Jordan. Meanwhile, LeBron has won two NBA championships as the main man in Miami and has been to something like 8 straight NBA Finals, basically slapping several Cavs teams on his back and dragging them there.

I also think it has a little to do with the fact they have to play, and get bounced by, him/his team every year in the playoffs. I get it, that would get annoying but that isn't a reason to hate a top player of all time.

I was talking about this the other day, Lebron may be 2-4 or whatever in the Finals or whatever it may be, but he literally had noone around him for 3 of those loses, and the 4th he had an adequate team but nowhere near the opposition. The only two teams that were worthy of winning a championship was the Heat teams, and people wonder why he left Cleveland? Clearly he stayed as long as he could, while giving the front office his blue-print for what he wanted in potential role players, and the best they could come up with in his first go-round was Carlos Boozer.. Last years team was very good, but the injury luck wasn't on their side and he still willed his team to 2 Finals wins in one of the better Finals I have ever seen by a player, especially a player who didn't win. I understand people saying he doesn't have the playoff credentials because of his losses, but go look at his teams and you may actually ask yourself HOW they got there, not how DIDN'T they win.

Just because someone doesn't suck Lebron's **** doesn't mean they don't acknowledge how good he is or is a 'hater'. He is great but he is a whiny baby on the court and isn't the best teammate. I think he is a tad overrated. And when I say that I mean he is an all time great but I wouldn't put him in my top 5. Like I said, huge flopper and travels a lot. I actually like Lebron outside of basketball. Think he is a really good guy and like the fact he speaks out about non-sports issues.

For sure, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I have nothing wrong with that, just the way you worded some of your posts made it seem like there is a hatred there.

On another note, who is your Top 5 all-time?

I've never hated LeBron, but I would bring up valid points in the LeBron vs Jordan debate back when it was a thing...and to young LeBron fans that made me a hater.

The only real criticism I had against him outside of a GoaT argument was the year he flopped all the time, Kobe asked him where his balls were and since then it hasn't been an issue.

Watching him in the finals again this year...he's the most gifted player I've ever seen and incredible to watch. The big question for me is if he will retool his game as he gets older and become more of a post player. He can probably break all the career records he wants without doing it, but if he does that he could shatter career records and put sizable distance between himself and the next guy. Looking at his body and frame if he wants to keep playing and stays healthy he could be a dangerous power forward at 40.

I've never seen another player with his combination of size, athleticism, and basketball IQ. Maybe Magic Johnson, but I don't recall Magic ever being as explosive as Lebron (which is not to say Lebron is better than Magic). Just saying that Lebron is a once in a lifetime player. It does look like his future is at the four. He could do a lot of damage from the block or at the high post as a scorer and facilitator.

I've said this in another thread, but to me Lebron is almost literally unstoppable when he just wants a bucket. I feel like there's some sort of mental 'ceiling' there at times where he looks like he's more concerned with making it into a 'moment' and screws it up.

Hate to make into the MJ debate, and obviously MJ was flashy, but when it came to just getting the win, he was plain rugged.

I completely agree and get the LeBron vs Jordan debate. I grew up being able to watch and remember Jordan in his prime, albeit I was young, but I still knew I was watching something special. But if I were to have a debate with my dad about it, not that I believe this, but if I were to have a debate on Jordan vs Lebron, my dad wouldn't hear any of it. And his main argument is "the game has changed so much, if Lebron were to have done what he does back in the day, he would've been knocked on his *** every time he went down the lane" I get that, and that is what makes the debate a debate. We will NEVER know who would've been better, everyone has a bit of a bias to a person who they grew up with or have a full knowledge of, and the game HAS changed so much that it is hard to compare the two era's. Don't get me wrong, I will always back someone who thinks Jordan is the best, but Lebron does stuff that Jordan couldn't do, same with Steph Curry or Kevin Durant or whoever because it is a different game now, 3s are more prevelant, 7 footers can take it out to the wing, there is more freedom of movement, the game is called completely differently, and there are 3 refs instead of 2 so it is harder to get away with things. The Jordan legacy is almost impenetrable, just because the things he did and the efficiency (as far as playoff stats go) he did them with, and you can't argue against that in any way shape or form.

James is the most dominant player in nba history. He can get to the rim anytime he wants.

I've got to wonder what happened to Lebron's jump shot this year. The second year he won the final in Miami he shot over 40% from three. Just two years ago he was shooting 38% from three and this year it is down to 31%. He is so much more dangerous if he is hitting from deep, as seen in the last game. I would think he needs to work on that before his post game.

Obviously MJ is a winner, and as much as I like Lebron I will concede that MJ is the GOAT. However, why do we kill Lebron for losing in the finals but don't bring up all the years where the bulls lost before the finals? He wasn't able to take over and refuse to let his team lose those years.

this. all of this.

I never really get into comparing guys in different eras much, but one big difference between Jordan and LeBron to me is the calls Jordan always got, LeBron does not. I guess the excuse for not calling some of the fouls imposed upon LeBron is because he is so big, but it is a different standard.
