Offensive Future at Wide Receiver

Yeah, no reasonable mind would use the previous year's performance to form expectations for the upcoming season. You got Barnett for the Heisman next year?

No hate, just the facts.

Let's look back...

Stats signifanctly lower this year. No injury excuse this year either. In '09, he didn't have stats in 5 games compared to 2 this year and his '09 season was still far better.

So you are telling me it's not a disappointment for our "#1" receiver to average 3 receptions per game in conference play?

Yes, his stats are far better this year than the past 2. That's expected as he was limited by injury in the past 2. It's nothing personal stating he's inconsistent, it's just fact and the stats back it up.

Same applies to Darks.

Get the facts correct, he was injured this year as well. Lets just forget that after the first 4 or 5 games teams started playing a safety over the top on Money's side.

Darks=disappointment, i dont think the same could be said for any other WR.

Everyone on here knows you don't like our WRs, so just let it go already.

How you interpret the available data is your own problem. With a new QB and more options, plus two years of them both proving they are average (at best in Darks case) Big 12 WRs, they are performing right around where most should have anticipated.

Disappointment that our #1 WR averages 3 receptions per game? Not at all if one realized we do not have a true elite Big 12 WR- it was going to be spread around. Coming out of Spring, many thought Horne or Lenz could lead the team in catches. Did not see Gary's emergence though.

Money has been the best all around receiver we have had in some time. I dont want stats because blocking doesnt show up there and important plays dont show up there. If Im picking teams I think I would take him over Blythe. Yes, he has his faults but he is a pretty good player.

You're right on here. They've had big moments, they've had big drops. They've made real contributions, but they've been inconsistent overall.

For example, Reynolds was on pace for 1000 yards after 5 or 6 weeks, and then doesn't add to his totals for about 3 weeks. Then he has some more big moments. He's full of talent, just not consistent. Nothing wrong with pointing that out.

The whole issue with receivers is that you literally depend on everyone doing everything right before you have a chance to do your thing not to mention there are three or four other options that do the same thing you do. I dont have a count but there have been a lot more plays available to Money that he never got a chance to make due to something else breaking. The same could be said for all our receivers. I would be willing to bet we have a guy open on 90% of our incompletions. Guys are open this year
