Norton

Really feel for Brock. I have no idea if he could've been the 4th ISU RB to land on an NFL roster in the Campbell era, but he'll have to really show out in year 5 if he's going to have any chance. The guy was patient, waited and watched, and has been perpetually dinged up as soon as it was finally his turn.

The ISU rushing attack was really good with Brock before he got hurt. Maybe it is just who you are playing, but after he got hurt it was really painful to watch the running game. He still didn't look 100% before today. Hopefully it isn't anything serious. ISU needs more than a couple healthy running backs.
He ran it well on Iowa's defense so I wouldn't say it just because of who they were playing. I still think a healthy Brock is the starter over Norton.

He'll get a chance to show his skills at a pro day though.

Brock probably gives a better chance at getting 2-4 yards. Norton looks like a guy that can really break something, but with the OL play we have seen this year, ISU needs a back that can make something out of nothing. Norton tends to try and do too much at times, but he looked a lot better against WVU.

He caught 4 balls yesterday. Wouldn’t say bricks but I’m sure he can improve. I’d probably credit him with 1 maybe 2 drops yesterday. Dekkers isn’t the best at those short dump off passes quite yet. Threw one at Nortons ankles and one at his knee.
His Brian Bosworth style neck roll doesn’t do him many favors in the pass game, I’m not even sure he can move his head.

Looks like we have the makings of a solid 3 man rotation. Norton as primary, Brock as your 3rd down type but more reps and Silas as a between the 30s guy. If Sama ends up at RB he could be the speed guy with some swivel that Sanders isn't.
He initially committed to ISU as a DB but the coaches have tossed out the option to him of coming in as a RB instead

He has the bend/lean/balance to certainly be a RB at the B12 level. The kid is impressive.

Depends of if he can or if the staff wants him to put in the weight to be an RB.

Maybe a little weight, sure. But if you can't catch him?

Just sayin'

Both Norton and Brock being hurt early on really crippled the ISU running attack. With both those guys health ISU beats KU, KSU, and probably TX. Once there was no running game Dekkers had to generate everything. OL play and TE blocking have not been great either. I did like the wrinkle of bringing in an extra OL as a TE to get something going last week.

Huh? I thought they weren’t paying him enough attention?
As I’ve already stated, if you’ve been keeping up, they wanted to get him on campus before offering him. They obviously have offered him and initially were bringing him in as a DB but are leaving the option open for him to be a RB

Have you been keeping up?

The last word I saw in his commitment thread was that ISU wasn’t paying him enough attention, and Iowa was hot after him.

Edit: As in, posts like this:

And “not on campus” is dumb, since he was on campus both for camp (when offered) and his OV last summer.

On campus as in come to one of ISU’s camps. The staff definitely isn’t cooling on him either lol. There’s a 0% chance he doesn’t sign with ISU.
