North Dakota St. Game?

I also remember ISU turned it over 3 times as well.

Twice on fumbles in the red zones.

and looking back at the SDSU game, we didn't even run up the score by slinging the ball around. We hung 44 points with only 160 passing yards. We did more damage on the ground with 229 yards.

Again, Never compare NDSU to So. Dakota. St. EVER. our programs are like comparing Iowa State to Waldorf.

Waldorf didn't beat ISU 2 years in a row. Also, have you seen the Nickel Trophy anytime recently?

You guys were great in DII, particulary in the 1980s and early 1990s. It's now 2009, and you're DI, wake up.

I was asking because I was following it on Yahoo (no TV, natch:wink:), and I just remember that every time they seemed to get something going, or get close to punching it in, homeboy threw a pick.

I think A-Rob fumbled twice and Arnaud fumbled once. And we still killed them. Remember, their last TD came on a bizzare advancing of their own fumble. As bad as we were last year, with an unsettled QB situation, we slaughtered a team that beat the team whose fans are currently talking **** on this board.

OK, let me introduce myself. I'm from SDSU and NDSU is our rival, so you know I want you guys to win this one. There is one easy way to beat them, or actually have them beat themselves.

Their QB, Nick Mertens is a joke. Even as bad as he is, he supposedly will be the starter against you guys. Mertens is very easy to read. He looks directly at his receiver and will never take his eyes off him as he goes down field, so he's very easy to intercept. A little pressure on him makes him even more prone to INT's. After his first INT, his confidence is shattered and he'll throw lots more.

Last year at Brookings, NDSU should have won, but he just tossed us a few INT's and it was over. Craig Boll has a new QB backup this year but I guess he won't play him for some reason. At any rate, Mertens will give you the game and I hope your guys ride him hard. His only strength is scrambiling, so don't let him do it. Make him pass and have your D be ready.

I also see LakesBison has arrived here. Maybe he can tell you why he was banned from the SDSU board?

Good Luck.

And it seems like some of you are taking it WAY too seriously. SDSU beating NDSU last year won't have any impact on the outcome of the ISU/NDSU next month.

The Clones will probably makes some mistakes, but should easily win by 21, at least.

NDSU fans like lakesbison continue to be in pure denial about their standing in D-I FCS football. Cyclone fans can expect alot of talk and alot of hype from the Bison, with nothing much to back it up.

SDSU and NDSU are very similar, and should be compared. Especially since they both cannot beat UNI, and cannot beat ISU.

It won't help them win, but it can, however, be used as a measuring stick to simply make a prediction.

Im banking on this to shut down your passing game:

6 Bowman, Richard CB 5-8 172 Sr. Houston, Texas (North Shore HS) 32 Colvin, Derrius CB 5-9 170 Jr. South Holland, Ill. (Thornwood HS) 12 Mitchell, Courtney CB 5-8 176 Sr. Houston, Texas (Booker T. Washington HS) 13 Banks, Freddie DB 5-8 175 Jr. Harvey, Ill. (Mercyhurst College, Pa.) (Thornwood HS)

36 Lemon, Cyrus SS 5-10 195 Jr. Minneapolis, Minn. (DeLaSalle HS)

What's your beef with Waldorf? Don't bring my Alma Mater into this discussion.

I've become pretty good friends with the SID's at NDSU the past couple of years. I'm happy to report that their SID's aren't nearly the type of people their fans are representing on this board.

I'm reasonably sure that this will be the game that puts the excitment back into Cyclone football. People who haven't yet bought season tickets will scurry out to get them, to see the likes of the talent that will be on the field this Fall...and all for a lot of Money.

Just like people worry about Kent, and we beat them 48-20.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!?

gimme a break.

hey mr. JACK. SDSU lost to a D III team 3 years ago, go back to bunnyturd ville. you won once in 56 years, we didnt care.

Iowa State Fans. Relax kids, We'll party together, Lakes will be raining ******* down there!

You guys lost @SDSU in 2007 and at home against SDSU in 2008.... One time, fine no big deal, twice and it's a streak....

Yeah, that was the problem. Mertens running more must be the answer. Those slow Iowa St players won't know what hit them when the see the blaze of the Great Nick Mertens. The Big 12 doesn't have anybody nearly as athletic as he is.
I just peed myself. :biglaugh: That Jacks fan, gets a thumbs up on sarcasm from me. :biglaugh:

Seven posts, and already you're being abusive...

It should also be pointed out that those winning NDSU teams from a few years back, you know, the ones that beat the Gophers and Cen Michigan were a completely different team then the one today. First off, they had a real QB then, not Nick Mertens. At any rate, I'm not here to start a pee'ing contest with anyone from NDS.

NDSU's new D-coordinator was the D-coordinator at Wyoming the past several years. Before that he was the D-coordinator at Montana (won a national IAA championship there) and before that was the DC at Northern Colorado and won back to back National Championships there. They have been working on this game since spring ball, so if they have any bullets to fire, they will be prepared.

Does he have something against coaching in DI FBS?
