Not sure “flat” at the highest level ever, baring a brief period in May, is a good place to be. I do not find 700/day acceptable, when entire nations have far less than that in Europe. It will take positive action to make it go down.
Staying where we're at now would be a disaster. We have to bring this down.... way down.

Meanwhile, Nebraska high school association just announced that the fall sports will start as planned with practices starting up on 10 August and first football games on 28 August. They have not yet made a decision on fans in the stands. This is a big positive, but given the very low rates of COVID in the state, somewhat expected.

Hospitalizations are also down a bit (Arizona and Texas improved the national number) which hasn't been the case since June. Hopefully Florida can get their crap together which will help a lot.

Stanford hosted 36 varsity sports teams. That is second only to Harvard's 40. That includes a lot of non-revenue generating sports to support.
On those rare occasions I find myself in agreement with Argent, I take a good hard look and question my position on the subject. I advise others to do the same.

Some recent info on fatality. Six times worse for an individual than the “Flu” but extremely contagious. Combo makes it quite nasty. Pretty much confirms what we already knew.
