We all know we have a heavy junior class next year. I’ve been wondering how that impacts how the staff looks at potential transfers (I.e no more sophomores)? For example, Ta’Niya Latson, 5-8, G, Jr. (25.2 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.6 apg, 2.2 spg) out of Florida State would look to further boost the guard court. Or, do you look at another class like this year's freshmen (Caitlin Frost, 6-1, F, Fr. (9 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.1 spg) out of St Bonnie) or someone who will be a senior (Marta Suarez, 6-3, F, Sr. (12.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) out of Cal) to add experienced depth inside?

You would hope that the year doesn’t matter. It is the talent and how the player can help either off the bench or in the starting lineup. Someone who will gel with the team.

My guess is we won’t get anyone else. Hoping I a, wrong, but feeling that way.

If they do pursue someone else. I wonder if Walker from Kstate would be that someone. From Wichita and the staff still follows her from when they recruited her out of HS

That dude in the knows with Joens said Bill told her he was intending to find 2 in the portal.

Wonder what else he’s looking to grab.

Just saw that UCLA has lost its entire freshman class (ranked as the #4 recruiting class last year) to the portal. That’s brutal.
Wonder if they pulled a Michigan Fab 5 deal and are all going to the same school.

I'm a little surprised we haven't seen a group try that yet.

I believe last year UCLA brought in a bunch of transfers with 2 years of eligibility remaining. Doubt the freshman wanted to waste half their eligibility on the bench

Didn't know where to put this, but sounds like Arizona is only offering head coaching candidates 500k salary(Adia was 1.25M) and 2%(400k) rev share(P4 standard is about 5%).

About to find out over the next couple years who cares about wbb and who's going to put in the bear minimum. Could see some awful bottom feeders in the B12.

Isn't the Az athletic dept deep in the hole? They are making the hard choice to punt on sports that lose money. I'm guessing FB and MBB will get funded to best of their abilities and everything else gets scraps. 500K isn't a terrible salary IMO.

Did a little digging. USA Today had an article last year about WBB salaries. They stated there are 69 power five positions. At that time there were only 18 power five coaches making over one million. The median salary was 715k (Nebraska). The average was approx 897k based on 66 reported salaries. Some of those included in that list have retired or been fired since. New hires ranking is where they would appear on the 2024 list.

Big 12 Salaries
Arizona Barnes #10 1.2 million resigned
Arizona State #45 Adair 650k fired/ #37Miller 675k
Baylor Cohen - not reported private
BYU Cummard - not reported private
Cincy #57 Merriweather 510k
Colorado #31 Payne 730k
Houston #63 Hughey 330k (resigned) #46 Mitchell 600k
Iowa State #23 Fennelly $850k
Kansas #53 Schneider 540k
Kansas State #38 Mittie 670k
Oklahoma State #44 Hoyt 660k (recent boost waiting on approval)
Texas Christian Campbell not reported private
Texas Tech #52 Gerlich 560k
Central Florida #42 Messer 650k
Utah #34 Roberts 709k
West Virginia #48 Kellogg 575k

So all 3 private/unreported salaries are in the Big 12. Notre Dame, USC, all of those report their salaries?
