Nick's brother had a really good career here. His defense was a difference maker his Senior year. Nick is going to be his ownguy, but I would enjoy Babb 2.0.

Not a bad idea overall to show openness to add siblings and legacy recruits. While talent doesn't always follow bloodlines, it often does, and for some kids, that is a factor in who they choose as they might pave the way for their brother(s).
Even great programs miss the tournament once in a while. Be careful. All it takes is a key injury or a couple guys going pro before expected. Look at Michigan. Heck, look at Kentucky.
Didn't Nerlens Noel play in the NIT? I heard he played with Georges Niang in high school.
I was trying to be funny early on a Saturday. His UK team did. I know he was hurt.
for the record, his defense was great his junior year too. He worked so hard on that end of the floor it hurt is shot. He always had to guard the other teams best wing scorer or best scoring guard.
Good post, who knows...if chris doesn't roll his ankle we prob beat ohio state...tgat team was really clicking late that year then he rolls his ankle

At the risk of sounding far to simplistic...if this Babb can play def at a similar (or perhaps higher) level than Chris then i want him on our team. Dont care about his scoring ability as we have plenty of firepower. But with the Big12 being as offensive minded as it is, we need more defensive players to help make every game less of a nailbiter.
Kind of ironic that Georges will likely be a 4 time NCAA Tournament participant and Noel never went.

Getting a little greedy there with the perhaps higher. Chris was an elite level perimeter defender at the college level. I'll take anything close to that out of Nick.
I've got to take that with a grain of salt. He very well could be but we need a better sample size before any judgement on that can be made. Even bad defenders have good defensive games.
I say this NOT to put players down, but to point something out. If Nick was their best defender why wouldn't he have played more minutes? Arkansas plays a long line up with their fast play. I have to believe that he does have skills in defense, because I do not think coaches would say something like that if not true.
Maybe a good comparison would be Thomas. I'm pretty sure there is NOT one player that can out shoot him behind the arch in practice. CFH says he's the teams best three point shooter, but that has not yet consistently translated in games.
Perhaps that's the case with Nick too. Not sure, but if your are the best, wouldn't you be are playing many more minutes?
"never" is a dangerous word. The 2016-17 team is going to test your statement, imo, as the transition from MattA to TJ here will cost us regardless of how good Hoiberg is.
I don't know but reading their message boards there is pretty universal disappointment in his leaving. Not sure many guys riding our pine would garner that response. He is by no means a sure bet and maybe not our best gamble but I like what I have seen and heard. Our team needs blue collar hard workers too guys that set a tome on the team and in practice even if it doesn't equate to minutes. I personally like this add. Along with NN, CB and a stud sit out transfer.
