The amount of people that are butt hurt by us is hilarious. People can't get over that we lost to a sun belt team (who has been ranked a good chunk of the season) and narrowly lost to a top ten team on the road. If I am Campbell I have all the fuel I need to get the team ready for OU and whatever comes next. Ranked in the top ten and we are still the underdog to the media.

I mean I'll agree its debatable (albeit barely), but to call it indefensible is ignorant. Since Cinci's last game (in which they only won by 3 points), we have played 3 games, outscoring two of those opponents at home 87-6, and winning at Texas. Factor in strength of schedule, and its pretty easy to defend this move.

Now if Georgia wants to argue us jumping them, the debate is more difficult.

They have played basically nobody. Some decent wins in there but none against P5 conference opponents. It comes down to our name, nobody thinks we are allowed to be good.

Maybe you shouldn't have gamed the system to make sure that the league championship game would be played on your home field. You might not have gotten jumped if you had played @ (and beaten) Tulsa last weekend.

I think anyone on the committee who might have been on the fence may have been swayed by the fact that Cincy seeming to miraculously have COVID cases both weeks (almost two months apart) they were scheduled to play the other best team in the league.

Also note that Cincy conveniently only missed road games. They played 6 home games and only two games on the road. If they actually play the championship game it will be 7-2 home/away.

I could see Coastal Carolina complaining, they've actually beaten 3 top 25 teams this year, one that we lost to. Their resume is better than Cincy

Honestly, Cincininnati and the AAC have every right to be upset. This year more than any other shines a spotlight on the need to move to an 8 team playoff that can include at-large bids like Cincinnati or Coastal Carolina.

But, it is nice to be on the other side of that argument for once. It does show that we have actually gained respect. We have strong wins and close losses to good teams. Remember--Okie State has been snakebit by injuries ever since they played us. I think we were the last team they played at full strength.

Exactly. I thought we would jump them even if they had won just because of our tougher schedule but I think you had to jump them after they again couldn’t play. As someone else said I thin Coastal Carolina has a better case. They should be a top ten team more than Cincy at this point.

At some point actually playing games against good teams has to come into play. I can understand why they or GA would be upset, but the committee has in the past stressed data points, and not playing the best two teams on your schedule, no matter the reason, does and should hurt your rankings.

We are 4-1 versus Sagarin Top 30 teams while Cincy is 1-0. Indefensible is not the right word.

Admittedly, if I were a Cincy fan, I'd be upset too. They are a very dangerous team.
