NFL: NFL Offseason Thread

Anyone who needs a receiver, sounds like the Dolphins are going releasing Mike Wallace once they find one more receiver.

Their #1 receiver next year will be...Kenny mother ******* Stills. Who had 3 touchdowns last year and 63 receptions.

Should they keep Wallace, Dolphins will likely have the fastest WR core in the NFL with Stills, Wallace, and Landry.

Vikings trade for Mike Wallace. Give up a 5th rounder, get Wallace and a 7th rounder back.

Another weapon for Bridgewater. If Adrian is playing in MN next year, that offense could be pretty good.

Vikings got a steal. Wallace is a great player, just a ******* head case.

It might be a requirement to be mentally ****ed up and think you're hot **** to be a receiver.

Not sure why the Phins gave up a 7th round pick as well...

Dolphins were pretty tight on cap space after signing Suh. Gotta think they're going to try and make a major move. Just not sure what it could be.

Dolphins have lost their top three receivers. Not totally sure what to expect next year...Stills and Landry are great receivers but aren't proven.

Have fun with that

One more thing I'm hearing on Mike Wallace traded to Minny: No, he's not thrilled by it.

10 bucks says that's a ploy, leaked by Wallace's agent, to attempt to up the guaranteed money on the restructured contract the Vikings are going to be pushing. same thing happened with Shady McCoy when he was traded. The word goes out that he's not thrilled with Buffalo, but it all goes away when he gets a new contract with lots of guaranteed money. Wallace may legitimately not be thrilled, but I bet the fact that we're hearing about it is because of his agent.

Out of curiosity, how to restructured contracts work?

For example - Mike Wallace already makes more than he deserves. So clearly the Vikings are going to want to restructure his contract. Can he just say "**** that" and continue to get the money he's owed?

I understand guys like Manning doing that...saving cap space. But why would Mike Wallace or (potentially) AP ever want to restructure their contract after being traded?

He's got two years left on his deal, neither of them guaranteed. So basically in the NFL he could be cut and be owed nothing. A restructure might be for 3 years at a lower yearly salary, but maybe half of it is guaranteed or paid up front. The incentive is that if he stinks, there's no way he'll be around next year to make his giant salary, so restructuring gives him more money immediately and additional job security
