You don't see more than 2-3 punters get drafted. Ever. His chances are now slimmer than they were coming into the day.
How many QB's is Carolina going to draft? Clausen and Pike, along with Appalachian State's, although it sounds like they'll use him for other things.
Oddly enuff Iowa players have a tendency to jump up the board on draft day. Round 2 and 3 anyway, but not necessarily in the 1st round. They typically are well coached with high motors and above average quick’s and athleticism.

Scout Inc claims the Iowa guys like Buluga, Edds, etc have high enough motors/toughness and fundamentals to compensate for there average to below average athleticism, quickness, foot speed. They did say Anger had above average speed.
The biggest pick up IMO, Toby gerhart to the Vikings, perfect fillin for the lost of Chester Taylor, a little disappointed they sid not draft a QB though....
Well that just goes to show you how out of touch they are then………..Scout is one of those sights that routinely talk about a guy having average speed or athleticism and then you look at his combine stats and wonder what they have been smoking.
Edds is 6’4” 250 and ran a 4.67 FORTY-yard dash. That would make him one of the fastest Lbs in the draft this year and in the top 25% or so in the NFL now. Iowa guys routinely have some of the better combine and Pro day times year after year.
It is another one of those ridiculous biases like the Big 10 is slow. How these guys make money is beyond me. They are so inaccurate and lazy in their research.
For reference Sergio Kindle at 6’2” 250 ran a 4.65, so that will show you how much they know. In fact dare I say, I follow it closer and know more seemingly than most of those sites? They just make crap up.

PS.....................I should have added Angerer was "fast" but ran a 4.68 at the combine and then a 4.63 at the Pro day. See what I mean, they are imbeciles and put NO effort into what they do. I’ve read countless incongruencies like that over the last several years of following this stuff. If I did my job that badly I’d be fired.

Scouts Inc (ESPN) not Scout.com. You must be another goon who thinks forty times matter. If you watch Edds, it is obvious that he has average speed. Doesn't mean that he won't be a solid NFL player, just means he doesn't have good football speed. Forty times are a joke. You obviously don' know **** about speed if you think Edds is fast, or you have never watched an Iowa game before.

1st off “goon” I may be one of the most informed guys on this site about forty times and have said over and over in multiple threads how fickle they are.
2nd, yeah I’d agree it is indeed obvious. I mean heck we have only had Edds covering slot receivers for 4 years. It’s not like he intercepted countless passes in many big games covering said WR’s. Heck he intercepted a pass in the Snr Bowl.
Man alive you need to think before you engage me. The whole point being if you go from site to site you’ll find others talking about what a fine athlete he is and how well he plays in space. Get a clue friend.
ISU should be so lucky to have Lbers even close to as “slow” as him.

good size though. 6'3 223lbs. Ran a 4.44 forty at his pro day. Hopefully can develop, because he looks to be really talented but raw at the WR position.
You are a *******. Forty times are a joke. They don't mean ****. If you think Edds is just as fast and quick as Sergio Kindle, you are a moron. You don't know **** about speed. When you are running straight ahead as fast as you can with no pads on, no helmet, and nothing to get in your way, anyone can post a solid forty time. He is limited on athletic ability. You don't know **** about speed or 40 times pal. Saying he is as fast as Sergio Kindle when anyone who as seen them both play knows that Edds is not near as quick as Kindle. You sound like a typical homer that goes along with all teams, especially teams that are in this state. Any scout in the NFL or college level that read what you posted, would laugh out loud reading it. You need to think before you engage me ****** bag.
They are two entirely different kinds of players....I'll guarantee you Edds is a better pass coverage LB than Kindle, however, Kindle is much better at rushing the passer. So determining which player is better depends on which scheme you are placing them in....if we are talking about which guy can better cover a TE or WR, it is Edds...if you want a guy to rush the passer, it is Kindle.
I'm not saying Edds is as "athletic" as Kindle...but Edds is damn athletic and he is a hell of a football player. Edds routinely shut down receivers all year that were supposedly "faster" than he was. Also, I know you seem not to care about 40 times, but Edds posted a 4.62 according to CBS sports....Kindle posted a 4.65. You're selling Edds short. He is athletic enough to cover TE's/WR's and is a pretty damn sure tackler. You don't get drafted in the 4th round of a deep LB draft if you are as slow or unathletic as you making Edds sound.

3rd I’m not prone to homerism and there are many on here I think would support that.
4th I never tried to say he was a fast incidentally and I don’t think either are as fast as Angerer, but it is worth noting Texas DID NOT ask Kindle to do what Edds did and that is cover Slot Receivers in space on a constant basis. It is highly debatable he has the hip swivel to do it and that has nothing to do with 40-yard dash times.
Finally I’d love to engage you in an open forum, as it wouldn’t be pretty.
