New Year's Resolutions 2016

Great idea. Z is doing better except when she has a cold. I don't think I stitched at all.

I think I would like to run more than a mile. I need to run more than once every couple of weeks.

Mine is literally the exact same as last year: to stop ******* swearing.

My list from last year -

1. Build a house! - done!
2. Move into house! - done!
3. Hit the equity number we want to hit - exceeded by 2%, done!
4. Make neighbor friends - we met one family and said hi to another, does that count? Mostly fail.
5. Host things at new house - options include house-warming party, Xmas, NYE - hosted something in July, hosting NYE tomorrow, done! The major goal of this was to be more social and make friends. That has gone very well this year.
6. Start new cross stitch (after finishing current one) It's like 30 pages total, I think and I got 4 done so that is good. This got delayed (similar to last year) by the announcement of an impending niece or nephew. So I switched projects in July.
7. Work goals - I think I mostly did this. Great reviews and getting involved in some new things. Some stuff I've worked on going over very well.
8. Goal Weight - maintained, but not achieved
9. Hit max level for Target gift cards - done!
10. Weekend/day trips to pretty WI areas. That WI from above show has me wanting to visit all the neat local places - we went to one place, womp womp. And it was actually on the IA side so yeah.

I have a big list each year so I always enjoy seeing what ends up happening.

2016 list -

Get new vehicle for husband (anyone got comments on Nissan Murano sized vehicles? Not that one specifically, but that category)
Get IRA opened finally and set up to be funded to round out our three fund strategy
Order some wedding pics and ****, hang that and other **** we have on our empty walls
Paint undetermined number of rooms in our house
More Landscaping - finish trees, do some bushes and other flowers
Meet/get to know neighbors
Complete cross stitch for niece/nephew arriving soon
Get 6 more pages of other cross stitch done
Work promotion/get excellent reviews
Try new recipes
Get to goal weight
Day trips or potential road trip
Bigger vacation, possibly.
I should throw in a number of books to read goal but I'll wait.

We had a CR-V and we just loved it. We had to trade it in for a mini-van (just far more practical), but they're really good vehicles.

I'm going alcohol free until at least spring break. Brother has a bachelor party in June, so I may want to build my alcohol tolerance back up a bit beforehand first.

hmm, the goal would be for it to be able to handle having two kids at least for a short while. Not that that's in the plan soon, but we would like to keep this vehicle for many years and don't plan to replace mine for at least 4-5 (at which time we are thinking it would be minivan should child-having occur by then). I've heard lots of good things about the CR-V, just have wondered if it would be a bit small.

We did a year in the CR-V with a then-4-year-old and infant. It was okay, and probably sufficient. I'm short, however (5'2"), and it is hard for me to free lift an infant carrier (or 45-lb-child) into the car when it's so high off of the ground. Minivans have a much lower footprint, so it's a lot easier for either me to put them in, or for our daughter to climb in on her own. We got an Odyssey, and it's awesome. Even Janny, who was SUPER against a minivan, loves it.

yeah DH was like we could get a minivan now but I'm like we aren't even pregnant or attempting to make that happen right now. How about we just wait on that til we need to replace my car which is going on 7 years old now (3.5 with us).

We were the same way, but flipped, when we got the CR-V. We were expecting the baby, and I said we should just jump into the minivan crowd. DH was hell-bent on not being a soccer dad, so we got the CR-V. A year in, and he realized I was right, and we took a bath on the CR-V upgrading. But we already had a child, and were expecting another within a month or two.
