I will be shocked if we notice anything different in this year's uniforms. From what I understood, there will be an upgrade in the material, and that's about it.

For whatever reason, JP and Rhoads want to establish some kind of "tradition" in our uniforms. Which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. We've NEVER had any tradition, so why start now? And what is the "tradition" we're starting? Is it copying USC almost to a T?

In an era where nearly every team in the nation is experimenting with various uniforms, including traditional programs like Michigan, ND, Ohio State, Georgia, Nebraska.... Iowa State is going the other direction and we're going to try to start establishing a boring "tradition", which we've never had to begin with.

If any program in the country should be experimenting with uniform combos, it's us. We have no tradition to worry about or build upon, AND it actually helps to get recruits if you have cool uniform combinations.

I'm a big fan of Minnesotas uniform combos they've been using the last few years. Multiple colors of helmets, jerseys, and pants that they just mix and match for different games. If we're going to copy a team, I vote we copy Minnesota rather than USC.

At the very least, just take those stupid stripes off the shoulders. I can't stand the jerseys where the stripes end in the middle of nowhere. I think it would be a huge upgrade to the current uniform if they don't want to choose much.

A simple gold racing stripe (or two) on the helmet would do wonders. Matching our current "gold"/yellow/mustard of course.

In the current format, the overdose of cardinal on the helmet mutes the I-State logo.

If you look at the game pic the current logo pretty much has a stencil look from a distance...they could keep the "state" in solid gold and just make the gold outline of the "I" thicker and it would look even more like a stencil.

I'd be curious to see what a solid gold "I" with a cardinal "state" outlined in gold would look like on the cardinal helmet...I think that would make it stand out more. That's my biggest complaint about the current look, the logo blends in too much with the helmet...it's hard to discern from a distance.

I like helmets where the logos are basically one color and really contrast with the helmet...like Iowa, KSU, USC, Texas, etc...but I guess I'm old school.

i would like to see a nod to the actual 'cyclone' aspect of our name with something subtle and tonal like this. i think its kind of cool how the back panel of the basketball jerseys have that partial kind of element to where it makes sense but isnt a huge conflict with the branding identity their trying to stay true to.

This is the best Iowa State look in a long time. I am flabbergasted as to why we went away from it.

I would love to see it with the matte helmets - think that would be outstanding.

If almost nothing else were changed from current design, please bring back the cardinal-white-cardinal road uniform.

Then, have an all-white road alternate, because at least it's better than cardinal-white-white.

I want a tweak to the I-State logo design to create a gold-cardinal-gold home combo, and a gold-white-gold road alternate, but those can be secondary considerations.

I've given up on the possibility of double-stripes on the helmet to match piping and pant-stripes.

Yeah it seems like they got rid of the cardinal pants because we haven't seen them since what, 2011? The Cardinal-White-Gold combo is pretty ugly imo.

Give players, recruits and fans something to be excited about. Few recruits would ever base their decision on if a team has great uniforms/variety but I believe that it shows that ISU is invested in the program and cares about how we look which I feel like players factor into their decision when comparing colleges

I still think we need to drop the I State logo all together. It looks like a high school's ****** logo. Bring back this beast sans "Iowa State". Just the clean twister shape, maybe a modernized version. NO WORDS. You could have so much fun with that on the uniforms. Basketball has already re-embraced these.

Plus aren't the uniforms for the fans and the university image? If the fans want new uniforms, which EVERYONE wants, give them what they want. After all, its all our money they would be spending right?
