Nice that volleyball will use the old tennis facility. Are they still practicing in Forker at the moment?
Biggest question…. could we have built a new press box for football with this money?
The rendering is just the new building they'll add on that location for a team locker room, meeting rooms, and training room. They are expanding the existing tennis bubble located south of the Research Park at the Ames Fitness South location, and adding half a dozen outdoor courts too.
I'd imagine the Research Park is going to own this property (and lease it back to the university) so they can easily convert it to offices for more tenants if athletic department needs change in the next decade.
Post #7 explained most of it. I didn’t understand why the ISU Research Park came into the equation, and didn’t see what Ames Fitness had to do with it.
Apparently they (AF) own the current bubble…and/or lease it on ISU Research Park land?

Is this a practice or competition facility?
Lucky for the tennis team this project began last year. If not, I’m guessing it may have been canceled like the wrestling facility.
Am I remembering accurately that at one time the practice courts were just west of Lied? If so, did those courts also serve as competition site?
No the they are not in good enough shape for competition. They held matches at Ames High courts and West DSM for inside matches. Now they will have everything at one site
