When the OP asked for new bands I took it as new bands, not bands such as foo fighters, shinedown, papa roach, etc. who have been around and popular for quite a few years now.

Greta Van Fleet. I'm not a rock guy but their sound is incredibly unique for this day and age. When I first heard them I wondered if they'd catch on but they have and that's great.
Alter Bridge isnt a new band, I saw them in concert probably around 2004 or 2005.

Agreed. Might as well throw Metallica and Black Sabbath in there too if were gonna quit naming new bands.
They're great. That's far from their only good song too so I would check out more of them if you like that one.
5 Finger Donkey Punch and Avenged Sevenfold are absolute trash and they are what is wrong with rock today. Hey, let's do another crappy cover of a decent song, to prove that not only do we have no songwriting ability, but we also have no musical talent either.
The rest are OK, kind of hot and cold on all of them.
I've ALWAYS been a rock guy, but the past few years there isn't much that is even mediocre. It's all just garbage.
Whats wrong with Avenged Sevenfold? I love their music mainly because the guitar parts sound like sinister circus type music. None of A7x's popular music are covers.
I got to the same point recently. Fortunately, I discovered metalcore. Most of the bands I posted a page back fall into this category. Love the different, but sounds that fall into this genre.
Red Sun Rising is another newer good one. Them and also Nothing More. Agree on Ghost. Love them, and they were awesome in concert at CY Stephens.
I can't stand them either. Five Finger death Punch and Avenge have terrible song writing.
Agree to disagree. Avenged is one of my top 5 bands and Nightmare is one of my top 5 songs.
More southern type rock and not super new but Blackberry Smoke is pretty good.
