Help needed. I’m 39 almost 40 and have pretty much listened to my favorites for the last few years. Who are the new bands I need to listen to? I lean hard rock such as Three Days Grace, Adelitas Way, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, etc. I also like the Black Keys and the Arctic Monkeys, but for this thread I’d like to limit it to hard rock but not metal. Who are the new bands I need to listen to? Thanks in advance.

Might be too “metal” for you but the new Architects album should be pretty palatable for someone of your tastes.

I can relate but even listening to Octane, nothing is jumping out at me. Aside from Greta Van Fleet, nothing does. See what 2019 brings. I have actually found myself listening to more country. That was not easy to type....

As a person who can’t understand how people can call most of today’s music, music, I thought rock music was starting to make a big comeback in 2018. A couple new bands to check out are Highly Suspect, Greta Van Fleet (sound a lot like a modern LED Zeppelin), Rival Sons, and check out Bad Wolves version of Zombie by the Cranberries.

I'll second this. They did an amazing job.

If you like those bands you might like these guys too

If you listen to some Buckcherry. They are pretty solid. You might only know the stuff they play on the radio. However, the singer has some pipes. Good band. Just started to get into them.

Not exactly new, but give Muse a try if you haven't already. As others have already listed; I too recommend Greta Van Fleet & Rival Sons. Foxy Shazam is cool if you don't mind a bit of glam:

I grew up on 80s rock, however the "newer bands" I generally listen to today:

Shinedown, 3 Days Grace, Papa Roach, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Avenged Sevenfold, Buckcherry, Halestorm, Theory of a Deadman, Volbeat, Sixx AM, Seether, Slash with Miles Kennedy, Evanescence, Skillet
