I bet Nerness gets a lot more attention this fall if he wants it. I love that he pulled in that KSU offer, then chose ISU.

Snyder worked him too. Kid is legit. First instate offer Iowa State made and the only pre-camp offer. Playing 8 man he is just very under the radar. We were smart to get on him early. He camped at ksu and got an offer and being from Murray Iowa KSU and ISU are the two closest schools (3 hrs and 1.5 hrs)

Plus a DE with a 4.53 40 time? Holy buckets.. feel bad for QBs. This is the recruit I am most excited about. He is gonna be a good one.

I think you meant to say Kansas is closest along with ISU. KSU would be 3rd.

I've seen him play quite a few times in the last year. Very good player, an absolute man among boys at the 8-man level. As a tailback, he sometimes doesn't play as physically as he should, but he's a monster on defense, which is where he'll play in Ames. Good size, very strong and very fast (I'll be shocked if he's any slower than 4.6).

Edit: should have looked at his profile for his 40 time.

Fast for a defensive end. If the kid has the work ethic (I have no reason to believe he doesn't) he could be special.

The kid sure seems to be an athletic freak. But, that's a big step up from 8 man football to the Big 12. He's a kid that will need to disappear in the weight room for 2 years and then come out at 6'3 255. Nerness and Nelson will provide two solid building blocks at DE that should be able to step in to the rotation with Meyers and Waggoner once the JUCOs (Pierson, Luna, Taylor) graduate. Just keep filling the pipeline and they'll be fine.

Really excited to get Nerness. I think he's going to very good and a great pickup for ISU. Welcome to Cyclone nation Seth!

Very nice snare. It'll be interesting to see what he looks like in two or three years, after spending some quality time in that new S&C facility.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this, but the plan for this guy is to make him a pass rushing specialist like Justin Madison. He won't need to add an extreme amount of weight just for the sake of it due to that. He will have to add the regular weight any high schooler has to to play at the D1 level, but he doesn't need to put on 50 lbs.

Very odd year but despite that dont recall this many d1 offers made to instate kids. Anyone have numbers?

Did this kid play 8 man or is he just from a town that plays 8 man but he enrolled at a bigger school?
