New Arrowhead?

That depends on who you are. If you're a couple guys in your 20s, probably downtown but then again you likely know somebody who lives in town and just stay with them. Im just guessing but I'd say the most likely candidates to stay in hotels for Chiefs games are families with children and they probably have no interest in staying downtown. Most of the people who come and stay in hotels probably don't even know P and L exists. Only young drinkers are staying downtown. There really isn't much in downtown KC other than that.

If I'm bringing my wife and kids? Give me the suburbs and chain restaurants.

You've see me in the cave dude. I'm as anti-billionaire as anyone. I don't view all of these stadiums as gifts to billionaires though. They aren't just used for their teams. I do like the idea of a 50/50 funding proposition . I like the idea of the citizens owning the stadium too. And it's not like the Hunts have been greedy. Other than one much needed renovation they really haven't asked for much else. These are city infrastructure projects in my book. In a place like KC the Chiefs are huge. I don't care what your personal feeling on them are. This isn't the end of the world but this will end up being a big loss for KCMO. KCMO is the heart of that metro. Even though the team is still gonna be in greater KC I think it will hurt the entire metro in the long run it having them in KCMO. Its not gonna hurt the team but I don't think its a win for the entire metro long term.
You do realize the Chiefs get almost all the money generated from non-football events, right? They pay rent to the sports authority and the county/sports authority get the taxes generated from the events but the Chiefs actually get the bulk of the revenue generated directly from the events. There is a parking user fee that is effectively a tax on parking that the sports authority gets to go into the maintenance fund because the sports authority is still responsible for the bulk of maintenance.

In the end while yes the state/city/county get taxes from the events they are not getting revenue from the events themselves.

My best guess 39°07'25"N 94°50'50"W https://share.google/Chzj41pe6QWIVI9r3
That seems to make the most sense. Makes good use the existing parking.

The other location I've seen thrown around in the renderings is the NE corner of I70 and I435. (39°07'25.0"N 94°50'50.0"W) The parking would be an issue there and seems cut off from some of the other amenities that would be within walking distance closer to the Speedway.

The other thing I forget is they could just demolish basically anything with the amount of money they are spending.

That spot could definitely work. That rendering throws the practice facility there which I think is more or less confirmed will be in a different location in Olathe. Would be kind of weird putting something nice and fun right next to a huge cemetery.

For the spot I mentioned they could use it as an excuse to upgrade some of the parking around the speedway. Currently it's all just grass on the West side.

For either location exiting is going to be a mess, they won't be able to just make traffic flow one way in all lanes after games like they do around Arrowhead. Only good thing is there's several options for getting on 435/70/73/40 from that area.

Personal seat licenses. Then your have to buy tickets for those seats on top of that. Like the various Clubs ISU has where you make a donation then still have to pay for the good seats. The cost for each license and the length/term varies.
A friend of a friend said he had to pay $20,000 for a PSL before he could buy seasons tickets for the Raiders.
What percentage of NFL fans will be confused by this headline? I’m guessing a significant percentage.

I saw some on social media last night. "Wait. Are you telling me the KANSAS City Chiefs aren't already in KANSAS?" People are so ******* dumb.

All the renderings being shared are from prior concepts, confirmed by the Hunt family yesterday. They will begin to officially select an architect soon
How big of a kick in the nuts would it be for KCMO if they didn't have Populous(formerly HOK sport) design it. They design 80% of all sporting venues in the country.

There are a lot of people like that. At least they added the City part to it. It was originally called Kansas, Missouri. The city was there before Kansas was even a state. It got it name because that's where the Kansas River fed into the Missouri River.

Sports are just pricing me out of the market. I have a boat and a lake house. i would rather go to a swim up bar and watch games or head to the bar. Also, have a 65 inch TV so watching at home is easy also. The price for the new Chiefs tickets is going to be crazy. With parking, Concessions, tickets and all of that. Yeah not worth it to me. My last game was at Lambeau two or three years ago and i bought the worst team on the schedule (Lowest priced ticket) and each ticket was 220 a ticket. I was at $440 with my two tickets, plus 20 dollars parking (Not bad for parking at Target across the street from Lambeau).

Them or HKS probably get it. I would lean HKS as the Hunt's are a Dallas family and HKS is Dallas HQ'd

HKS projects:
  • So-Fi
  • Lucas Oil
  • US Bank
  • Jerry World
  • New Mavs Arena
  • New Rangers Stadium
  • TCU stadium
