Nevada At A Glance

Nevada looks like a Fred coached team, NBA style play. This will be Prohm style vs Fred style. Lets see who comes out on top. They are really good from the three point lane and if our threes don't fall we will get bounced.

If they hit their 3s will it be Prohm's fault?

The guy landed out of bounds and it was reviewed. He didn't know it was an auto review and was storming around. It was just bonkers. He also refused to let his team leave and they were all stomping on our logo midfield. Classless program.

During the recruiting of Rashad Vaughn they were complete tools. It's funny what's happened since. They've gone into the gutter and we've reached sweet 16s.
Not getting Rashad was a blessing. We were only getting him one year and we were better off getting BDJ over him for a year. Right now Rashad is just a waste of roster space for the Milwaukee Bucks. I follow them and he has shown very little in his 2 years.

I'm not worried. First off, this ISU team is actually playing some D and rebounding. It's not like they haven't been up against late round NBA prospects before. Looks like Nevada likes to run a bunch of screens and shoot it...but ISU has the guards to switch with. Even Burton can switch on a shooter. Young can't, but he does a nice job of hedging and then getting back to his man. Nevada also doesn't seem to defend all that well and isn't very deep. If you let ISU get into their comfort zone, they will run you off the court. It's going to take some major off days for ISU to win. The only way that I see Nevada winning is if Burton and Young are in foul trouble and both Naz and Matt are having bad shooting days. Then I see a loss. Otherwise it is 10+ W.

I see why many fans and pundits are touting this as a good matchup for Nevada but hey... we keep playing the way we have and I'll be damn surprised if anyone beats at our own game.

Havent seen Nevada so relying on what I read about them on CF. Sounds like Vanderbilt where they space you and shoot the 3. Hope we can get up on their shooters and get the board when they miss.

I though about the the Vanderbilt comp as well. There were no big 12 teams that have Nevada's ability to shoot the 3 from all 5 positions, and Solomon Young didn't play against Vanderbilt, so it'll be interesting to see how he adjusts to having to guard out that far.

Iowa St has obviously improved from that Vanderbilt game, but that should serve as a warning that they can't sleep walk through this game.

He was like 2 yards out of bounds. It was really hilarious. They were all yelling "Rebels, Rebels" like a bunch of morons on our field. My guess is any Nevada fan lurkers here will get a kick out of laughing at the incident.

Haha yeah, it appears that both ISU and Nevada fans are well aware of the delusion of the UNLV fan base.

I'm really looking forward to the game, it's been way too long since our program has been dancing. We can analyze the hell out of it on paper, and it does sound like the teams are built in a similar way. But I really have no idea what to expect. Other than a few games Nevada has been very solid this year, but the fact is the MW was way down and we only played one top-50 opponent(on the road first game of the season). Of course my biased opinion thinks we have the talent to pull the upset and make a run, but who knows.

I'm sure the crowd will be very heavily in your favor, and your team has a lot of NCAA experience (none of our players have ever made it). There's a lot going against us, but these games aren't played on paper and that's what makes this time of year great.

I really wish I could make the trip, I know ISU fans travel as well as anyone and I've heard a lot of good things about Milwaukee. I can't wait until Thursday, should be a great game!
