NBA: *** NBA Playoffs Thread V2.0 ***

The rest of the team is not franchise players. Losing Rose would set the bulls back 5 years easily.

They did well without him this year. If they could get a scorer for him that is willing to play defense in a trade they could be a real threat. This isn't really an option though unless you are playing a video game. But if that were the case he would have been playing three months ago.

Not sure how many stayed up for the post game last night but they showed some of Karl's press conference (I've linked it below) and it was hard to not get emotional. Hard to believe that it's his first time winning the award. Karl gets alot of flack for his playoff issues. The upset of his sonics against Denver happened when first round was best of five, easier for upset to happen but Kenny Smith brought up a good point. Kenny said that Karl made both Payton and Kemp much better players.

Also side note on Karl. I kept alot of clippings from the bulls championship years. When the dynasty was ending I saw an article that Karl was interested in the Bulls job when it was clear that Phil wasn't coming back, and Jordan would of continued to play for Bulls because of Karl's UNC ties. But dumb **** krause decided to hire his buddy Tim.

then trade him. I'm sure there will be plenty of interest from other teams willing to take him off the Bulls hands.

I don't see how they could trade him. They would never be able to get fair value in return for him.

And you'd be right. At first. Then a few weeks after being cleared by team doctors to play, you'll start to get a few puzzled looks. A few months after being cleared by the team doctors to play, combined with the rest of your team playing through pain (not to be confused with a surgically reconstructed knee) in the playoffs, people can, and should, turn on you if they are fickle and impatient fans with no sense of loyalty.

Fixed it right up for you.

If it was plain and simple then Derrick Rose wouldn't be one of biggest stories in sports right now, would he?

It's a big story b/c he has been cleared for MONTHS! Not days or weeks, but MONTHS!

There is zero reason for him to not be playing right now.

You almost had me, but I checked my original post, and it remains untouched.

Your post was bad and you should feel bad.

Just wondering, if the Bulls would have come out and said "we are shutting Rose down for the season" back when he was cleared, would people have been as upset?

I don't think it was unexpected that he would miss the whole season back in May last year.

I guess I am not upset with Rose for not returning, as I didn't really expect to have him this year.

Who cares? He's just some ***** who can't play hurt, right? Better get him off the team now.

When you start supplying the point as well as the counter-point to the conversation, it's time for me to bow out.
