NBA: *** NBA Playoffs Thread V2.0 ***

I think GS is the team I want to come out of the West. Steph Curry has been outstanding since the all-star break.

hearing Rose is 90% healthy and could return in the next round. interesting.

Would you two please not get yet another playoff thread closed?

On the Rose possibility, I don't think it's a good idea to throw a guy into a series like that. It could work if you limited his minutes.

If a healthy, MVP season Rose could only shoot 35% while racking up 19 turnovers in 5 games against LeBron and the Heat two seasons, it must be scary for Bulls fans to think what would happened if he tried coming back now.

Not a Bulls fan, but I agree with this assessment. Rose played horribly two years ago in that series. They would have had a chance to beat Miami if he hadn't decided to try to become Superman and take the ball to the hole every ******* time against the Big 3. Rose was the #1 reason why the Bulls lost to Miami that year. It really should have been Mavericks v. Bulls in the finals, not the Heat.

If he wants to beat the Heat, he's going to have to take his head out of his *** the next time they meet in the playoffs.

With the help around him he doesn't need to do that. Anyone who thinks bulls can beat heat in a series without rose is high.

I don't put too much blame on Rose, there is just not much he could do against a locked in LeBron. He isn't a great jump shooter, he's just a terrific athlete who is stronger than almost any other guard in the league. He just ran into a guy who was bigger, stronger and just as quick, Rose couldn't get by him and settled for lots of threes.

My lingering memory from that series is Rose trying to jump over three guys on the way to the basket (over and over), and either losing the ball out of bounds, shooting an air ball, or throwing the ball to a Heat player to start yet another Miami fast break.

He was doing pretty well against the heat till Lebron started guarding him.

agreed. They just don't have enough offense without Rose playing 40+ minutes. Even then I'm not sure they've got enough. They really need to add an elite 3 point shooter to that offense. JJ Reddick would be a good add IMO.

Raise your hands everyone who thought that Richard Hamilton would play more games for the Bulls than Derrick Rose in the last two years ?

Nobody else on that team could create their own shot in that series. Deng was solid, but spent too much energy guarding LeBron, Boozer was just awful on offense. Noah was nowhere near what he is today.
As for the turnovers, LeBron had 18, and Wade had 20 in that series.

As for Rose coming back, I don't think it would hurt the Bulls already ridiculously slim chances of beating Miami. What will he hurt? Their offense is already one of the worst in the playoffs, and his defense should be good enough to guard Mario Chalmers or Norris Cole. However, I am not convinced it would help their chances either. Wouldn't be able to say that until I saw him play.
