NBA: *** NBA Playoffs Thread V2.0 ***

the Chuckster with a great joke.

Why don't you buy your wife a watch? Because there's a clock on the stove.

Bulls haven't won or lost four straight all season (only time that has ever happened I think I heard). So even with Hinrich in the lineup on the road it wasn't likely to happen.

Good chance they take care of things in Game 6 and provide an annoyance for Miami, possibly more of annoyance than anyone else in the East can but not a real test like they might get from the western conf winner.

Houston doesn't want to be swept... Also 90-80 with a minute left in the third? So much for stepping up on defense in the playoffs.

Anyone who thinks that the Thunder are better without Westbrook is an idiot.
Durant doesn't trust anyone at the end of the game now. Could have dished to Ibaka for an easy dunk with 35 secs left but took it himself and got a charge instead. They are going to be in big trouble in the next few rounds if they can't find a second closer to tag along with KD.

Durant's going to gain a great appreciation for what LeBron went through in Cleveland over the next couple of weeks

Don't think LeBron had anyone as good as Ibaka on his team. Maybe not even Martin.
Think Durant will be able to develop some trust in one of those guys and they will be fine. Obviously wont be as good as they were with Westbrook, but better than tonight.

Cleveland LeBron is a terrible comparison with Durant this year.

Durant has way more talent than LeBron did back then.

The 2007 Cleveland Cavaliers could have beat the Spurs, if they had today's LeBron on their team. People always talk about how little support LeBron had in Cleveland, but the key difference now isn't supporting cast, in my opinion, it is LeBron. He is so much more intelligent, patient, calculating, and all around dominant now than he was in Cleveland.

That and he has greatly improved his jump shot. If the Spurs tried to guard him the same way (clog the paint, give him uncontested threes) he would destroy them.

James shot 40.6% from three. Steph Curry, the best shooter in the NBA shot 45.3%.

Durant has been in a great position up until now where Westrbook, and to a lesser extent Harden, have taken more than their share of the blame for any postseason losses, and less than their fair share of credit for the Thunder wins. If last night's game plays out exactly the same way but with Westbrook putting up the same stat line Reggie Jackson did, the narrative would be Westbrook shot too much and should have got it back to Durant at the end. But now with out Westbrook and Harden, Durant is finally going to be judged on the same scale LeBron was all those years in Cleveland, and that's just did you come through at the end and win the game. Durant did not last night.

Kevin Martin will have to take the second closer role. The guy can shoot. He can't play defense, but he can shoot.

You don't win in the playoffs with jump shooters, you need guys who can get to the foul line. Martin has been able to do that during the regular season, but he has not shown the ability to get to the line at all in these playoffs.

The Fightin' Karls live to see another day. Huge game for the Clips tonight, need to get home court if they hope to advance.

Can't believe the Pacers have let Atlanta even up their series. It'll be interesting to see what, if anything, Vogel does to counter the Hawks' change to a bigger lineup. Indy needs someone to step up as a legit second scorer to take some pressure off Paul George.

What I can't believe is that the series is tied 2-2 and every game has been a blowout. Thankfully this series has been banished to NBAtv where only degenerate gamblers and Pacers fans are watching it.

That's a yearly tradition for the Hawks. This seems to be destined to be a series that goes 7 with the home team taking every game.

Memphis had a huge win last night. Z-Bo just took over that game.
