Naz Mitrou-Long: "I'll always be a Cyclone"

Shame on any Cyclone fan who actually thought that might happen. Naz has done nothing except show he is a true ambassador for Iowa State, with deep rooted love for the Cyclones and their fans.

Naz is awesome. It's great that he loves ISU and our fans. No one can question his loyalty or motives regarding the decision. So, his best option would be medical redshirt. Can he play as grad school student at ISU? If he is denied, would he try to play this year after 2 months of rest? Maybe he needs another surgery? I really hope things work out great for him. I don't know the rules regarding redshirts, but the guy at Iowa (Settles?) seemed to get an extra year.

Don't forget the 3 towards the end of the game against North Carolina. Onions

He had 2 or 3 big ones down the stretch iirc. Kane won it but Naz got us back in it. As I recall telling some buddies that day "ISU has 2 busses; one for the team and one for Naz's stones." His comments today, while not surprising to any true fans only serve to further cement his legacy as a great Cyclone.

I think it's even better that he's Canadian. It's not like he's some local Iowan that grew up in the Iowa culture and chose it from that. Dude probably had know idea who ISU was growin up, yet he's as true a Cyclone as you can get.

Hopefully somebody else will clarify, but I'm not sure they can even apply for the hardship waiver until after the season, and that wouldn't be an option then. Plus, the NCAA doesn't necessarily on any team's time frame. See Diallo, Cheick.

First off, it has been reported several places that you are correct that they can not even apply for an RS until after the season is over so, the mid year thing is not an option.

Second, while I agree with your point about the NCAA not being on any schools timetable, we have to remember that the issues with Mr. Diallo were school and grades related and required investigation. While the NCAA has taken forever with academic investigations, I think the medical RS requests have always been resolved more quickly and I hope that's the case with Naz

When the transfer question came up I wish his response would have been-- Why would I ever transfer from a top ten program?
