NSCR: NASCAR 2024 thread

I don't watch much but figured I'd tune in tonight.
I don't think the drivers love the track, how their tires react, the stoppages, etc.

Blaney wins the first cup race at Iowa Speedway, really likable guy and I’m happy he won

Blaney seemed to love the place. I thought it was a pretty good show. Two or three wide and tires weren't a huge deal.

Tires didn't seem to be as much of a factor as I thought they would be considering what we were hearing about practice. There were still some issues but it wasn't like tires were blowing left and right all race.

Supposedly at Friday's practice they were running lower right front air pressure and more camber trying to get more speed. After practice they took out some camber and added some air to be a little easier on the tires which appears to have helped. Also more practice time finding a good balance for the cars probably helped the tire wear better too.

Is the track just packed with people when these guys like Larsen and didn't Tony Stewart race in Knoxville a few times? Joe Maurer did a rehab game in CR years ago and it was completely nuts.

There was an aerial view on Twitter from a High Limit Sprint Car race in Eagle, NE on Tuesday June 11 that Kyle won the $50K and there were people every where, jam packed. I tried to find the pic but couldn't.

Goodyear apparently told the teams to calm it down and gave them updated camber and pressure recommendations

Yup. Hoosier did the same thing when the Dirt Late Models ran on the dirt at Bristol. We usually run 10 -12 lbs in our RF but Hoosier said no less than 16 lbs

Saturday night Larson started 10 of 11 in his 8 lap heat and drove to 4th to lock in the A Feature. Started 13th in the A and was up to 9th before a caution. Had a terrible restart and slipped to 12th or 13th. Drove up to 3rd with some help from another caution. When he finds his line it seems like he can win from almost anywhere.

They're running the wet weather tires at New Hampshire. They don't seem to help much.

Amazing how imsa can run wet tires in 3 different classes, yet nascar can't figure their **** out. Maybe need to tell Goodyear to take a hike
