The ransom demands were haphazard and not constructed well, I think if more than one person was involved that with more input the communication and procedures would have been presented better. Going on three weeks the chance of someone in a group getting nervous and making a mistake would increase, a single person could isolate a lot easier. The longer this goes on makes me think that whatever the plan was it did not play out as expected.

Roughly the same age as my folks. They are relatively healthy but frail is a term that might be accurate. Somebody trying to kidnap them wouldn't be great for them.
