Mullet's

Well looks like we've cleaned this one up.

In summary

Southside=Nebraska

Eastside=Texas, we didnt start this but we'll sure as hell finish it.

Yeah, this was a knockout.

...anyway, can't wait to get to Mullet's. Looks like my kind of place, minus the $9 pitchers. Seriously, do you get a souvenir hat with that or something?

I've been there twice...great place, i would recommend it for sure. and it's just acrossed the river, it's not like you have to go walking/driving around some freaky neighborhood to find it.

When I first heard about this, I was assuming food would be an afterthought (and it would be more about the beer/drinks. From what I keep hearing on early reviews, people will go there specifically for the food.

I actually see Mullets helping to spearhead new life into that area. As mentioned, Tumea's and Graziano's Grocery are already there.

Full Court actually does a pretty good job with the food portion of their establishments. They aren't gourmet by any means but they do it right. Each restaurant has items that just stand out. I'm a big fan of the spam sandwich and fried egg sandwich at High Life. The thai peanut wings at El Bait Shop are some of the best wings I have ever had. Hessen House has really good jager schnitzel. I'm assuming the menu at Mullets will have something I crave as well.

I'm still hoping they reopen Buzzard Billy's somewhere. I talked to the guy at El Bait Shop a few months ago, he's the one who spearheaded Mullets. He said that once Mullets gets up and going they are going to reevaluate if they should bring back BB's and if so then where.

Yeah...I'm really hoping they re-open Buzzard Billy's. The city is fixing the issue on Court that caused water to back-up during high floods, so they could reopen in their old spot if it is still available (although last time I walked by, there was some work being done in the space....so not sure if that is still an option).

I hope something goes in there, it was one of my favorite downtown patios along with Raccoon River. I think Raccoon River closed their patio for some reason... :sad:

Word to the wise:

Buzzard Billy's bloody marys are still served @ Hessen Haus.

And the East side v. South side debate is like Don Vito and Phil Margera arguing over who's fatter.
