3. Oklahoma (12 - 6) Defeated West Virginia based on record against #1 teams.
4. West Virginia (12 - 6) Lost to Oklahoma based on record against #1 teams.
5. Oklahoma State (9 - 9) Defeated Baylor based on head-to-head record.
6. Baylor (9 - 9) Lost to Oklahoma State based on head-to-head record.
7. Texas (8 - 10) Defeated Kansas State based on head-to-head record.
8. Kansas State (8 - 10) Lost to Texas based on head-to-head record.

All of these potential brackets are making me wish I got Big 12 tickets this year. I used that money to take a gamble on NCAA tournament tickets in Omaha. My head just might explode if ISU is placed in Omaha for the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Only if WV finishes ahead of Baylor.

WVU can tie with Baylor and we would still get the 1 seed, because they would be treated as the "same team" for tiebreaker purposes against whom both KU and ISU went 3-1, and so then it would go to Oklahoma State as the next best team for a tiebreaker. The lesson here is that if you're gonna lose a conference game, do it to the worst team in the conference, and then you'll win these seeding tiebreakers at the end. (Thanks, Tech)

We just can't have Baylor pass WVU in the standings. And with one of BU's last four games coming in Hilton, their top outcome would appear to be 3-1, so WVU could go 2-2 and we'd still be alright. Texas @ WVU tomorrow night is a pretty big game for that.

Screw that. The 10 team format is perfect for basketball.
This. It makes the conference basketball season amazing when you play every team twice. It's a fair playing field for the entire conference unlike the Big 10 where you can benefit from only playing the best teams once.

Big 12 Standings

1. Iowa State (14 - 4)
2. Kansas (13 - 5)
3. Oklahoma (12 - 6)
4. West Virginia (11 - 7)
5. Baylor (10 - 8)
6. Oklahoma State (9 - 9)
7. Texas (8 - 10)
8. Kansas State (7 - 11)
9. TCU (4 - 14)
10. Texas Tech (2 - 16)

Kansas is going to lose to K-State and OU and we win out. Thought our last losses would be at OU and at Texas but since beat them we are going to win out!

So far so good!

I might get grilled for this, but if ISU doesn't win outright and has to share the title with KU, I would rather have the #2 seed than the #1 in the Big XII tourney. Later game time on Thursday (works better for ISU fans going down to KC that day, like myself) and potentially a better route for ISU the the championship game (would personally rather face Texas and OU as opposed to KSU then WVU/Baylor because their unique playing styles would be difficult to prepare for). Thoughts?

We swept WVU, and their press allows us to get out and run and we just about came back from a 20 point deficit @ Baylor and we will beat them Wednesday. I'd rather take my chances with WVU and Baylor than take on OU again or Texas should they finally right the ship.

Still an interesting 3-way tie scenario at the top with us, OU, and KU. That is a big IF OU can win out and beat us in Hilton.

I disagree with everything you said other than the late game part haha.

Wanting to play UT or OU instead of KSU or WVU? That is absolutely absurd.
