Most punchable face in the Big 12

The song Mr. Brightside is old. None of these college kids were born before it was released. It died along with the rest of Emo when Sugar We're Going Down single-handedly killed that obnoxious genre (thank God). It's weird that it's been resurrected and seems more popular than ever. Like Don't Stop Believing. Decent songs, but they've just been run into the ground at this point.
Fun fact, the longest running song in the UK top 100 hits for consecutive weeks is Mr. brightside.

It is considered the 3rd largest song in UK history and is the most streamed song in the UK before 2010.

Obviously this is America and not the UK but crazy to think about an American song having such a stranglehold on UK music culture. When you think of all the music that British bands have created.

Also funny enough it is considered the national anthem of British nightlife.

It kind of merged with a few other things into modern metal/metalcore (which is popular and has stayed around awhile). Seemed to be a split on all of the screamo/emo/pop punk/punk groups around the early 2010s or so where some died out, some flipped to more pop scenes, and others flipped more towards the metal side.

Speaking of that: Fall Out Boy is still around, by the way (see the "moved more towards pop" grouping above).
I don’t consider Fall Out Boy or The Killers as emo. They’re more like pop rock (as you mention).

Also if anyone has kids and they watch Spidey and Amazing Friends, they know Fall Out Boy is alive and kicking. Or at least the lead singer is.

I mean something that only ISU does.

Like how Iowa has "In Heaven There is No Beer". I'm incredibly jealous of that.
Technically Iowa isn't the only school that sings it. They are just the most well-known school that does.

other schools that sing it as a victory song or just a song during their games include:

- Wyoming
- Minnesota Duluth
- Michigan Tech
- North Dakota State
- Yale

Wisconsin sings it too but only as a band tradition thing before games.

Maybe they chant F UK instead of F KU?

Fall Out Boy was emo originally. Grand Theft Autumn was such a banger of a tune. Then they sold out and are more pop rock now.

The Killers are definitely not emo.

I think both are great. I just don't understand the whining some fans do about song selection like Mr. Brightside, Juicy Wiggle, etc. If it gets the fans and students to be energetic and crazy, I'm all for it.

Sound crew actually did a really good job of timing Juicy Wiggle last night. Didn't just use it as a time out filler like they did in the women's game.

I miss the bearded fat ballerina from years ago that ran around Hilton and got fans amped up.
That was a FB player can't remember his name but he would run down the flag guy like 99% of the time. I told him how much he brought to the game and he just laughed and said thanks.

Are Pearl Jam and Sublime still popular? Asking for a friend.
