Milan's Zoom Call

JJ was only here two years compared to Milan's three, and began at a different school while Milan came here direct from HS. Yet JJ became a hardcore Cyclone, he is a very easy guy to root for. Hoping some NBA team is smart enough to spend a 1st round pick on him.
I don't agree. I have a little hard time seeing how he carves out a roll in the NBA. Think he'll get drafted and have a shot, but his skills don't translate all that well imo. Poor handle, not a good enough shooter, and solid but not high end athleticism. Now he could retool his game a bit and become unrecognizable compared to his play style at ISU, pick one thing and become elite at it ala Georges, but that's the only path to NBA success i see for him.

Major college sports are basically minor league sports leagues with no rules. As the years go by fewer and fewer fans will invest their time and money on such a badly run enterprise. NCAA is a complete joke....watch Brendan Sorsby somehow be allowed to play for Tech this year and the NCAA passively let it happen.
I think where it is really going to drop off is when the current student fans drop out. When I went to school you at least saw the athletes on campus and thought they were at least similar to you
Now with all the money being tossed around it will be interesting to see if students will care about cheering on and paying for a semipro sports team.

I would like to see the attendance rates at those schools where students have to pay an extra fee to help pay the athletes. Can’t imagine parents are thrilled about shelling out an extra $100 or $200 so the university can pay another student $2 million to play corner for your football team.

Milan will never have a better season than he did last season and the NBA told him he still isn’t good enough, can’t blame him for securing a generational bag of cash. With that said, Kentucky fans won’t be as patient with Milan as we are, he had plenty of games an athletic defender locked him down given he can’t create his own shot that well. I still don’t get the Kentucky fit outside of money alone.

This keeps being repeated and doesn't fit most draft projections I've seen. He wasn't seen as a 1st round pick or someone who would get a guaranteed contract, but he was likely getting drafted in the 2nd round. It would then be up to him to earn at least a 2-way deal.

IMHO, I get the sense that Milan has/had a lot of people in his ear telling him what's best for him and who feel entitled to act on his behalf. There were pretty well-sourced rumors of his parents being mad about his role in the 24-25 season and his dad shopping him around during/after the last two seasons. I don't pity a 21-year-old making $6.5 million, but I feel for him and others in similar situations because it puts the kid in a tough spot.

Why? He's a grown man and can tell them to mind their own business.
